    Can't think of something gayer than this to complain about. WHY CAN'T I STORE MY BRD KNIFE!!!!

    In other news, these mini updates and twitter combined look like a whole new era of people getting more than they were and yet complaining even more. Exciting!

    I actually thought they'd boost XP rewards from FoV pages, but it sounds like they didn't unless they forgot to mention it. I wonder what the ultimate impact of that is going to be. Will people just xp in alliances in places like Cape Terrigan, churning through pages similar to Dominion Ops? Given the slow speed of repops there, xp is still going to suck.

    I don't see how this really addresses the problem of xp pre-Abyssea. In my experience it wasn't the amount of xp that was the problem. It was the fact that it was impossible to find a group. If they're just upping the xp per kill, solo still blows and groups got even better. That's almost like a tease. It's like saying "we made SMN burning and East Ron S even better, but good luck getting a party to do those. In the meantime, enjoy 4k/hour solo from 65-75."

    With all these "twitter" Q/A shit they've been posting recently they've been mentioning a lot of 'potential' type of updates for the future. The Atma list, AH-merger, Abyssea-teleporters in nations, etc was all part of those, but never really made it to patch... yet. SE continues to tease us with their Q/A, although I really do like this patch as I've had numerous subjobs to level up, and lots of skilling up to do with it.

    I still think they should go this route with macros:

    MacroLine: /equip "item name" main; /equip "item name" sub; /equip "item name" ranged; /equip "item name" ammo;

    Given enough spaces we could full macro swap all of our gear in 4 lines.

    The only thing thats nice on this update is macro changes. the rest of it can fuck itself.

    Actually, I think anything not present now is scheduled for the March MAJOR update. Actually in some tweets I think they specifically said Major (like in the Aegis tweet).

    Uh, I'm not complaining at all. I tossed that shit long ago. I just found it amusing that they may have fucked up, that's all. There's not a whole heck of a lot to say about this update, anyway.

    But it's ok, if you need to be a total douche about it, I understand.

    I think the update is win, I just don't see how it fixes the xp problem.

    But wow, I didn't even realize people still used macros. PS2/Xbox users, I guess?

    macros have a max length which the non-jp client reaches much easier (jp squiggles are often less characters)

    Ages ago I submitted an example similar but it was a single command for an equipment row
    /eqr1 "main" "Sub" "range" "ammo"
    /eqr2 "Head" "Neck" "Ear1" "ear2"
    etc etc
    But again with this model, the line length would be reached fairly often and likely the changes to expand that would be a huge development task.

    Update is win for me, since I'm one of those losers that still has jobs under level 30 I want to level. Been waiting for this update to do my skillups from abyssea leeching and level those other jobs.

    Either or works for me. I just thought it'd be easier to increase the number of characters per macro line than to add additional lines in the entire macro.

    Even when I played on PS2 I never used /wait in my macros.

    Took less than 10 minutes to download and installed pretty much instantly. I don't know if I just haven't been paying attention since switching from PS2 or what, but that install was really fast.

    My 2 PCs are downloading at the normal speed (rather slow, but I'm on a VPN so not much I can do), but my mule account on PS3 can't get past the "Downloading the latest version update information"... keep getting POL-1161... was able to get the POL Viewer update just fine, but the FFXI update just won't start on PS3... The must have alot less available slots for downloading the PS2/3 version from the update server... >.> Not surprised, but more than a bit frustrating...

    meh, I still use macros heavily. I haven't touched SpellCast yet, I think i need to devote a weekend to understand exactly how it works. But thats just me, I take my time to make shit perfect. The macro change is great as I have plenty of /wait commands as BRD

    edit, oh and I'm on pc ; ;

    Scholar was the breaking point for me with spellcast. Every other job I could get away with "Triple-Tap" macros but there are way to many conditionals with SCH. Afterwards it had made nearly every other job streamlined with gear.

    My only unhappiness (which i'm sure something exists to do) is to have something look at your xml and make a list broken down by location (porter moogle slip # or 'inventory') for quick reference on where to grab it when gearing up or putting gear away.
