Funny how you use Braylon and "productive" in the same sentence. Besides growning that boss as beard, driving drunk and beating up one of Bron's crew, he aint done shit besides drop balls. Ever notice everything they show this highlights its that same goddamn catch he made over the top for the TD? Its like the only thing they have on film since him leaving the Browns lol.

Even if they re-sign him they'll still have money under the cap, dunno what they'll do with it.

Other than the DE position, it's just all about quality depth, but still. Just getting people back from injury shouldn't be their only "reloading" plan...

In Ted we trust I guess.
Oh and MARK MY WORDS Archie. No seriously, save this post. You guys signed Tori Gurley, an UDFA out of my University of South Carolina. I guarantee you will know his name and that he will contribute this year if someone goes down or next. You guys got the steal of UDFAs in Gurley. Dude is a super hard worker, keeps his nose clean and would have easily been a 3rd round pick if he didnt have Stephen fucking Garcia throwing him the ball.

Great size at 6'5 , 1 of those 4 towering WRs that Spurrier had down here in Columbia. Great WR, wait and see. You're going to bust in the future. All I want is the credit when he replaces James Jones void at some point.

They probably could have kept Brad Smith for that price, who would have been much more valuable to the Jets. Plax is about 10th on the list of FA WRs I'd want. Smith got a raw fucking deal from New York, I wish Miami would have made a run at him.

Considering I'm a Patriots fan, I hardly pay attention to the Jets so no I haven't noticed, but it's hard to deny he was pretty productive last year (53 Rec, 904 Yards and 7 TDs according to NFL.com) and I just don't see Plax putting up those numbers after being in jail so long.

What those stats aren't telling you is that he failed in most clutch situations.

That's because he was the Jets only receiver for the first quarter of the season.

I mean, I know he was notorious for dropping balls before going to the Jets but he only dropped 2 last year for them. Do you really think Plax will do better fresh out of prison?

Drops don't tell the story either. Basically, instead of looking up stats, watch the games. It's not just drops, it's piss poor decisions, taking plays off, penalties from mental errors, etc etc etc.

Yeah you're right. I mean look at Micheal Vick, he's a total bust after being in prison for so long. Jets made a mistake on Plax, guy is probably going to have 15rec total and maybe 1td in the first few games then be back in trouble again. These ex cons never work in the nfl.

Obviously I do watch the games and just looked up the stats to support my argument. I'm not saying Braylon was amazing, but my argument was that this year only, Braylon would do better as a Jet than Plax would; of course Braylon's pricetag is a lot higher too. You really think Plax isn't going to make any mental errors or bad decisions after being in prison almost 2 years? In the future, I'd bet Plax will be better in the long haul, assuming they keep him, but this year... not sure about that.

Vick wasn't great in his first year back if I remember correctly; partially because he was a backup for McNabb and taking a Brad Smith type role in their offense, but I'm not sure you can chalk up his entire performance to that. Plax will have the advantage of being able to start most likely, but I'm not sure he'll be his old self again this year. Time will tell though.

He wasn't that great but it didn't take him very long to become great. I wouldn't rule plax out, he has a lot to prove and I'm sure he would like to make some big money. Speaking of which, did anyone pick up Moss yet?

Always thought Plax was overrated as a wideout. He was just a big body to pitch it up to in the endzone. He was always hurt, although he played through it.

Wait so no one has picked up Moss yet? I realize Plax is extremely cheap and it's really up for debate which of the 2 will be better this season, but still surprised that he got picked up before moss considering he just came out of prison lol.

I honestly think both are going to have good, above-decent, above-average years. Not GREAT years, but better than expected.

Good to hear. If we don't sign James Jones, it'll look like Jennings/Driver/Jordy Nelson/Randall Cobb (3rd round draft pick)/Brett Swain. None of these guys are super big bodies (I think Jordy is the tallest at 6'3") and Swain has been on the team a few years now but rarely gets on the field (we don't run a lot of 5WR sets, especially when Jermichael Finley is healthy.) If he's game hopefully he can show it enough to replace Swain before someone poaches him off our practice squad.

If we do sign James Jones though, he's got a rough task ahead of him unless Cobb shits himself.
