I wish they would move the draft back or got the damn CBA settled before the draft. If teams were able to trade/sign FA prior to the draft, they could focus on the missing pieces. Using Miz and his man crush as an example, if Carolina traded for Orton in the offseason, they wouldn't waste their pick on Killa Cam and could have addressed some different issues. All these teams needing a QB would have targeted Kolb, Flynn(lol), Palmer, etc instead of wasting their high draft pick on Gabbert, Locker, Mallet, etc. So lame.

It is annoying, but I don't think it will have that great an effect. If the Cardinals for example would rather go with Kolb than Gabbert or one of the second tier guys(Ponder, Dalton, etc.), they should have a good idea of what it would take to get him in a trade. Yeah they would probably take a later round QB just in case, but I'm sure those teams are still very aware of who is going to be on the block when the CBA is finally reached.

Going into the draft with a QB already signed to your roster as opposed to going into the draft without said QB drafting a later round QB "just in case" and HOPE you get to trade/sign a QB after the draft seems like a pretty big effect to me. There are tons of squads that will be targeting Kolb and Palmer but one 2 teams that are going to land them. It sure would be an enormous weight off a team's shoulders if they knew what their roster looked like prior to the draft. Especially the big hole at QB. I know I'm focusing on QB but this goes for every position. You want to have as many holes filled prior to the draft so you can draft based on need.
