all i know is, there is no finer qb and coach to learn from in your first few years than mr brady and BB.

its really like going to university as a math major or having einstein teach you alongside newton. if he cant thrive there, he wont thrive anywhere

Holy shit, forgot about TO, Haha. Wasn't it TO and JJ Stooooookes back then?

seriously. Garcia had a much better offensive core and coaching staff than Cutler's got right now, or ever had in his career. I think the 49ers then didn't change coaching staff often, or at least o-coordinator.

holy shit you're retarded in just so many ways

Brad Johnson only won 1 super bowl. He threw 450 times that year for 22 td and 6 int.

Protip: JOHN GRUDEN WAS HIS FUCKING COACH

The other 5 that have won multiple super bowls, none of whom started their rookie years:
    Bradshaw
    Staubach
    Starr
    Brady
    Montana

Have fun "shooting them down." They were all "game managers" just like a fucking Gruden QB, I'm sure.

what's the big deal with the 'starting the first year' or not? I mean why does it matter here? this can't have seriously started because of Ryan Mallet

Rhinox is better at coaching football than Bellicheck is all.

so.. this is about the Mallet pick? I assumed there was a method to the front office's madness, though why they chose Mallet and not.. a better QB early on, I dunno. I watched Mallet a lot in college, and give him a big situation of any kind.. and the dude folds. only one moment that i remember, though.. was the UGA game where he tossed it to a wide open Childs, lol.

but yeah.. maybe he can turn into a decent NFL QB. I for one don't think so.

Got to love it when Plow losing an argument he simply changes it.

Bradshaw started the very next year 3 years earlier then Arod.
Staubach didn't enter football until 5 years AFTER he was drafted because he wasn't sitting on the bench he was in the miltary
Starr Split Snaps until Lombardi got there but he did play his rookie year and the got some quality snaps the year after
    Brady sat 1 year
Montana sat less than a year.

    Pick two.

This is the comment that started it.

Personally I think the kid's crap, I've thought it pretty much since I started paying attention and watching him.

And, of course, with Bellicheck's horrible track record of drafting backup qb's, it's obviously a terrible decision.

    Spoiler: show
I really do think he's crap, but I'm not about to 2nd guess in this situation, let alone claim that they may be terrible coaches

It's really a pretty obvious pick imo, he theoretically has the tools to become a great qb, and if anybody can make that happen it's Bellicheck.

Oh, my bad, I didn't realize that we know the exact amount of time Brady has left and that you're claiming development can't include playing at all.

    He drafted Tom Brady.

But I'm sure you believe Matt Cassell is awesome as you do Jeff Garcia.

He's a statue in the pocket and has zero idea what to do when he gets pressured; see the Alabama/Ohio State games for instance. Give him time? Yeah, sure, he can pick you apart, but there's zero chance he'd be given a ton of time in the NFL. Like I said.. I would have waited even further and hell, taken a game manager like Greg McElroy before taking Mallet, and that's the truth. He's a little bitch. You hear Mallet's interview? he's going to do so well with interviews in the future I am sure.

not that it's important. i can see the argument between waiting and starting.. but the thing is the Rodgers situation is a rare situation. He would have started if Favre had stayed retired and I honestly think he would have been just as good.

You made that argument when brought Arod into it. I didn't

Care to change the argument again?

Kind of nervous about New England waiting so long for pass rushers. But wtf @ the Lions lol, that D-line is going to make some noise.

Blew 6+ chances? Yeah.. because Year 4 after sitting on the bench before is the exact same as year 4 when you start out of your rookie year, lol.
