In his movies the music always sets the tone and makes them better. Inception when the dream is collapsing and the top maybe falls at the end, TDK when the joker tells how he got his scars, when he revels in the madness he caused after escaping from the precinct in the police car. I expect this movie to be equally badass
His Inception score is my favorite. Followed by Gladiator then....The Lion King. Anyway, he made me notice how important good music can be for a movie. Really sets the tone just as much as the story itself.
Not gonna lie, that trailer was fucking orgasmic. Already sold on the soundtrack.
I think Gladiator was my first introduction to him, I could hum that soundtrack all day long. I don't have access to the Inception soundtrack at work but I think there is one track near the end that I absolutely love.
^
Time
Enjoy most his soundtracks but never really looked him up until I got the MGS3 soundtrack and Harry was talking about how he studied under him.
That's the one! I didn't think anyone played film music live.
When I think of film music, three names come to mind: John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and James Newton Howard. Hans Zimmer has to be my favorite current composer. The music from Mission Impossible 2 was amazing as well as Inception and the Nolan Batman series.
Here's an interesting tidbit about one of the songs from Inception. Hans Zimmer took "Non, je ne regrette rien" (The french song they used as the countdown for coming out of a dream) and slowed it way down and then created a score based off of it for one of the main songs in the movie.
All this reminds me of my desire for like... the perfect OST for an RPG. Yeah, most games have some decent songs here and there, but most tracks are forgettable or outright annoying, as too often the case for songs tracked to desert regions. Next big offender is the obvious use of digital blips over recorded instrumentation.
fuck the song what about the 1st chick it shows (I dunno wtf that is she is playing) she was getting into it and that and her was hot
eh the song was badass too
@ the new trailer, being a Pittsburgh native I cannot for the life of me stop seeing downtown Pittsburgh instead of Gotham city. Gonna be a weird movie to watch thats for sure.
New pics I think?
Spoiler: show
Nolan must be good friends with Cillian Murphy.
Cannot unsee goatse mask. -.-
Yeah the behind the scenes with Zimmer are great to watch. I remember listening to him talk about how he made the Joker's theme and how it involved dragging razorblades along wires and then playing with the sound.
@ the video
I didn't realize the guy playing the piano is actually Hans till I was thinking "damn this guy is really into this music...almost like he...made it" then I googled!
