Nobody's ruining my time.. lol
I simply have a preference in no clapping to clapping and I told everybody why. It's as simple as that. Do you prefer people clap during the end of your movie? Is your movie ruined because people didn't clap? Probably not
Stop sensationalizing this as if it's at all serious. This has been one of the smallest, dumbest, and most inconsequential argument I have ever been a part of on BG.
Think too many of you got offended at me calling you, a clapper, stupidI really didn't mean to offend, it was a joke. You can clap all you want, I'm not going to bat an eyebrow. But I'd prefer you not to the same I'd prefer people who are in front of me to walk faster.
A theater near me wasn't sold out. I just picked up some midnight showing tickets!
That's why I show up early with a fully charged cell phone. I also hate getting a crappy seat, so the 1-2 movies a year I go see on opening night, I just get in as soon as they open the place for seating and play on my phone until the movie starts. It kinda sucks, but it beats sitting in a horrible seat next to comic book guy and his buddy, fatter comic book guy who didn't shower.
Yeah, there are very few movies I catch at midnight anymore (think this is the first, and likely only one this year). When I was in college though, I'd always bring my GBA or DS, or we'd bring dominoes or something and play in the lobby before being seated. From what I've gathered, not many people have purchased tickets to the full 3 movies, so I'll be claiming a good seat early, getting to know the people next to me between films, and taking advantage of free refills to justify the overpriced drink I'll be buying~
I'm going to wear my "Have you heard the good news?" shirt so that no one sits near me.
No, you are completely in the right. It's bad enough when people take their screaming child to something like a nice restaurant, but at least there that experience isn't completely dependent on being able to hear what is going on. Taking a kid on a plane? Well, that sucks for everyone, but there are potentially very good reasons for that. Taking your screaming kid to the movies because you are too much of an asshole to get a sitter? Fuck parents who take their young children to movies not designed for young children. In the event it's because they can't afford a sitter, they can't afford a movie ticket for the kid or themselves either. Screw that shit. I'm going to sit next to people who bring their kids to the movie and clap in their ear the entire time.
