I like how everyone praised Bane when decided as a villian that he was the equivalent of Batman in strength and smarts and at the end he still turned out to be a henchman lol.

I never thought he was a henchman, unless you mean he died like one. Because yeah, that was bullshit

But he's always been in charge. He is the league of shadows, talia's idea is his own. Only time I thought he was a henchmen was when she was putting his mask back together and the flashback kept calling him her protector and he started to cry. Shouldn't have cried. Maybe he was a bit infatuated with talia, but I still thought he was doing what he genuinely wanted to do and was a fuckin' boss. Edit: her giving him orders what to do with the bat also didn't help. I ignored them pretty much but friend says that's when bane became a henchmen and I agree, they shouldn't have had talia giving him orders like that

Favorite bane scene was probably when that gangster guy yelled, "and where is bane?!" "Ask for the devil and he shall appear~" and then came the, "do you feel in charge?" with his hand on his shoulder. God, that was great

    I really disliked
    Spoiler: show
how Talia was written. She is such an interesting character. She ended up just looking like a crazed terrorist with daddy issues. Obviously, with just one movie they couldn't play up the love between her and Bruce.
Also, the Robin thing was lame. What they should have done is the cafe scene, have Alfred look up. He would see the back of Catwomans head and just as he does she leans over saying "eat up, Helena" to the baby next to her. When she leans over, Alfred sees Bruce smiling.

Just got back from it, amazing movie. Not sure why all the haterade towards it from some people I have talked to or things I have written but I think it's a clear case of "over hype" just like most MMOs suffer nowadays.

Bane was great, after reading Nightfall the past week I think it was really well done. Hardy did a great job, and i'm not going to even compare him to Ledger because they were two different bad guys. Joker has always been the ultimate baddie for batman, but Bane is such a great adversary as well because he's just so cool and calculating. Hatheway was great as catwoman as well, dat suit...dat suit.

    Spoiler: show

Ending was fine, I know some people I went with complained about it, but honestly it just reeks of Batman. I mean that's the shit he pulls off ALL THE TIME in comics, movies and cartoons. He always has an ace up his sleeve. Hell if people want to complain about that, they can complain about how Gordon gets shot in the 2nd movie but it was actually "all according to plan". Some things you just have to say "yeah ok, that works whatever".

A great follow up to the 1st and 2nd movie and I would judge the trilogy as a whole and say it's one of the best since LoTR hit.

I'm pretty sure it was 14 not 4, though that could be me juxtaposing something I remembered incorrectly with the 6 mile blast radius of said 14 MT nuke.

So lets do the math with the worlds fastest helicopter, rated at 400.87 K/PH and a 4 MT Nuke. At top speed it would take 158.98 seconds to clear the 11 mile shockwave, and 289.05 seconds to clear the thermal effects. The Bat was a twin blade helicopter, so suspending reality for a second the top speed is possible. Mach 1 on a Helicopter though?

Normally I'd stop typing and go make a god damn sandwich, but since I just had oral surgery and can't eat I'm going to rant.

    Spoiler: show

The ending bugged me as much as it did because the bomb was the antagonists primary device for building tension; they focused on it heavily and how the helicopter flew off with it couldn't have fucking happened. I had a similar sort of disconnect in TDK with the Jokers perfectly timed bombs, but I mentally hand waived that away because the bombs were a background element to the story. How they got there wasn't as important to the story as that they where there. For the resolution of this movie, how to disarm the bomb became the focus. This was quite literally the climax of the movie and thus the trilogy and it had me going "nope. not fucking happening".

If this seems like me being nitpicky, I didn't have all the numbers in the theater. I just knew how far (6 miles) and how much time he had (72 seconds) and knew it was bullshit . Then when I looked everything up it made it worse, because I was able to look all that shit up with 15 minutes on Google. That leaves 2 possibilities. Either someone pointed this out to them, and they made the decision to leave this in or no one noticed. Either way disappoints me because I like these movies for being well thought out.

The Robin thing was just there to give us an explanation of who would protect Gotham now that Bruce Wayne is out of the game because it'd be a pretty dick move for Batman to abandon the post with no replacement after all.

Overall the movie could have done without the Talia twist and Bane should have been taken out in a grander fashion than being killed like mook but overall the movie delivered, did the Batman franchise justice and now sits at the gold standard of how comic book movies should be handled.

Seriously, go watch Batman & Robin if you want to nerdrage.

    Also this

    Spoiler: show
I wanted to see Ras actually come back, back in that one scene lol. I was like "ohh shit yes" but it was all "in his head" or some shit which I can understand in the Nolanverse that the pit cant really function the same way Venom can't really work, but still....damn I wanted that.

Also Talia looks a lot better in Arkham City vidya game imo.

Anyone notice how in these movies batman kills A LOT of people? I noticed it rewatching the 1st and 2nd movie, how he basically "kills" Ras by not saving him and other shit which is totally out of character from the comics. And you see that character come through in the 2nd when he saves the Joker from falling to his death.

Isn't this how he beats him every time usually in the comics? I know in Arkham Asylum you don't actually "fight" him you just wear him down and detach the venom feeds.

I've been waiting for someone to point out that it was Batman and not Selena Kyle who killed both the Driver of the truck and Talia.

I was pretty sure it was batman pelting the pavement with rockets when he's trying to get them to turn east and Talia forces them straight. Could be wrong though, but I didn't see Kyle fire at the front of the truck to cause it to turn?

also lol @ people complaining over the ending being happy. It's motherfucking Batman, you know he doesn't die..he's the goddamn batman

only a handful of people know basic math, or that a nuke should be detonated miles away at a minimum? c'mon son.
Nigga I go to movies to be entertained by a good story, not to fucking plot trajectory points and whip out my fucking calculator to see if all the numbers fly. Are you that asian?

I'd have to see it again but I'm most certain that the order of shots goes Batbike - truck keeps on driving - Batwing - Truckdriver dies - Talia takes over - truck nose dives. Because after the driver got shot someone next to me said "Did Batman just shoot someone?"

I'm not Asian but I'm also not retarded. The moment they said Megaton I was expecting/hoping for some Terminator 2 style shit. Assuming they fucked up and meant Kiloton, the ending is totally plausible. Outside you know, fall out. Which there would be, since it was an aerial blast or there wouldn't have been a mushroom cloud. That just goes back to my gripe that someone, somewhere fucked up. For a movie series with a lot of convoluted plots, you'd hope someone would notice that.

Did Fox or anyone else say Megaton other then Bane's crew? I'm just curious because it could be written off as "Terrorists want you to think they have a bigger weapon then they do". And like others have said, it's a fusion reactor so who knows what it would really do when it reached detonation point.

We get it, you did the math and it doesn't work out. Shut the fuck up already and move on.

Suspending belief for questionable science has been a part of this series from the beginning. Does anybody remember the microwave bomb or whatever from Batman Begins that was vaporizing water in pipes underneath the train it was on, causing them to burst, nevermind that even closer at hand are all these human beings... that are made of 98% water....

Movie was fun, I liked it.
    Spoiler: show

I liked that Robin was in it, and that he was more or less Tim Drake if Tim had become a cop instead of tracking Batman down. I liked how they implied a lot of things in order to keep them out of camp territory. Catwoman is "The Cat strikes again" but only in the newspaper. And she doesnt wear a silly cat-tailed outfit, but instead has a mask with flip up infrared glasses - which just happen to give her the silhouette of cat ears. Bane has a mask but no Luchador outfit. Pretty much the only one left in a silly suit is... Batman.

I don't know a whole lot about nuclear physicals (although I guess I could unlazy and google), but the reactor was Fusion based. Given its cleaner nature, wouldn't it make sense that there would be significantly less fall out?

I've found a couple sites it was 4 MT. Bane said it at the stadium. Since it was the nuclear physicist who jerry rigged the thing who likely would have given the yield, I'd say it's reasonable to trust the claim. they also gave the blast radius of 6 miles.
Since we see a not so small nuclear explosion at the end we can assume that he was right. even giving a 50% margin of error that still 2 Megatons, aka everyone's fucked.

    1. Fusion reactors don't have any fallout/explosions, because they're fusing hydrogen typically, and when the reactor goes critical the fusion just stops.. There is no explosion. The premise for turning it into a bomb is silly.
    2. Nuclear explosion fallouts have nothing to do with how "clean" the bombs are, rather just the amount of fissionable material (weapons grade plutonium)

Dude. I don't know why you watch movies lol. They didn't do the math right. Get over it. It took literally NOTHING away from my enjoyment of the movie.
