Finally saw this today great movie, only thing I didn't like was I thought dragged a little during some parts when Gotham was under martial law. Best to worst I would rank the series TDK > DKR > BB
Some gripes: Blake figuring out Bruce Wayne was batman in the beginning. I thought it felt a little forced just to move the story along and downright unbelievable. Also 11 min before the bomb explodes and then batman takes off with 1 min left and survives an atomic explosion was almost as laughable as the ending in fast five where they are dragging a 2 ton safe through the streets of rio while outrunning a precinct.
What I liked: bane. Fucking phenomenal. I thought he nailed the character dead on. I was weary because of the complaints I heard about his voice but I understood everything he said just fine. He was also fucking huge, I'm glad they didn't make him look like the hulk and kept it realistic because it fit the movie well. Bane was absolutely my fav part of the film and he did a hell of a job as a villain considering the home run Heath ledger hit with the joker.
Anne Hathaway did a good job with cat woman it felt like she had a 1950's vibe to her. But some of the scenes she was in felt unnecessary, not a knock on her but I think the movie had too many things going on sometimes.
Talia was a nice surprise, I suspected it was her in the beginning of the movie but as it went on changed my mind. Good Lil twist. I like what they dd with robin also, lovetitz is really a great actor.
Again great film, I agree with others that some of it felt cut down like the prison scene but it was a nice way to end the series.
Was I the only one who felt Bane's voice kept changing accents through out the movie lol?
His worst was when he was on the plane in the beginning.... "Of course!"
Saw it today.
Will nevvvvvver understand how people were surprised by Talia + Bane and their power dynamics. Seriously. The first time the child is mentioned, they pulled it off well, coupled with Bane's "I was born in darkness" comment. But every subsequent time after that gave it away. Do people seriously not notice when someone is playing the pronoun game? "The child" this, "the child" that.
I also agree Blake's reveal of knowing Batman's identity was forced and fast and ugh. I didn't like it.
Loved Hathaway's Catwoman, despite not being sure about her when the original casting was announced. She brought the slinkiness and seductive [everything] to Selina Kyle without making her too over the top, I thought. Also loved Bane. A LOT. He was a terrific villain, I thought (and I was fairly scared he'd be lame after Ledger's Joker, but he was just fucking awesome), and deserved WAY better than that anticlimactic ending he got.
There was a section in the middle of the movie where I literally sat up straight in the theater and was like, "Okay, enough of this shit, where's Batman?" because it had been for-fucking-ever since Bruce was onscreen. There was also a decently big Alfred-shaped hole in the movie for a little bit.
And I have a problem with that ending. Blake picking up the cowl = dead Blake. Unless he happened to stash years of training, a few billion dollars, a genius inventor to build him toys, and a loyal butler in his back pocket that I completely missed, to go with his mommy and daddy anger issues and that chip on his shoulder.
And finally, living in Pittsburgh, some scenes were really awesome to see. Some scenes was like, "well hello, my city seems to have magically sprouted some extra buildings." Weird. XD
Pittsburgh my ass, Gotham was straight up New York with it's sky-line day time shots.
Why they thought that was a good idea we'll never know lol. It pulled me completely out of the movie every single time.
Spoiler: show
My cousin recognized Downtown Newark, NJ. I regret not going to check it out that day.
He means escaping the 6 mile blast radius of the explosion in 1 minute since the film was made to look like he was still with the bomb during that time.
Bomb repellent.
Spoiler: show
Would radiation even affect him? Because he was bitten by a radioactive bat?
I'm sure he was so excited about what was happening that he donned the cowl and went out that very night to beat up crime!
Pft! Says who? Reality?
Who says Bruce wouldn't eventually train, or at the very least mentor him somehow?
I'd trade that scene for the bridge one where Robin tries to cross.
That was in the movie, wasn't it?
