Bane: *places hand on Daggetts shoulder* Do you feel in charge now?

Daggett: I've paid you a small fortune.

Bane: And this gives you..power over me?

Daggett: What are you?

Bane: I'm Gotham's reckoning, here to end the borrowed time you've all been living on.

Daggett: You're evil.

Bane: I am necessary evil.

*Snaps Daggett's neck*

I just thought him passing the cowl on was awesome in theory, shoddy as fuck set up. Either he stays/comes back to train Blake, voiding Alfred's happy ending, or he leaves it all behind and there are glaring plot holes and questions about Blake's future.

I loved the sene with Bane and Daggett. My favorite part was, "and this gives you... power over me?" and everything that line implied, not only about Bane and how he operates, but about the assumptions a lot of people make about money.

But yeah, the entire Daggett dialogue was my favorite scene in the entire movie too

Reminded me of a Spider-Man story where the Kingpin sets up Aunt May's assassination from his prison cell, Spider-Man marks him for death, and, confident, Kingpin bribes the prison staff to get some time alone with Spider-Man, who's coming for him.

Spidey shows up, and before even saying a word, kicks the shit out of Kingpin (in front of all the other inmates), and reminds Kingpin that for all his money and the loyalty it buys him, he doesn't have any real power. Spidey breaks a limb or two before leaving Kingpin alive, warning him that if Aunt May didn't make it out of ICU, nothing would stop Spidey from coming back to finish the job.

Finally watched it today. Thought it was great. I also thought Talia's death scene sucked (as well as Gordon walking away from it). Great movie though, and the ending was incredible well done.

I would also like to know. Only thing I could come up with was that TAS had a character named Roland Daggett (obviously who John Daggett is based on) and that Daggett's company is the one who created the thing that turned the one guy into Clayface

What’s interesting about Nolan’s reference to Clayface in The Dark Knight Rises is that it actually takes from Batman: The Animated Series rather than the comics. In the 90s show, Roland Daggett is the owner of a company that produces a new face cream called Renuyu, which gives the user the ability to modify their face. While the cream wouldn’t be allowed to sell in stores due to its addictive qualities, Daggett gives it to an actor named Matt Hagen for use in a series of crimes, eventually leading to Hagen becoming the villain known as Clayface. While this doesn’t happen in the final Batman movie, and the character is renamed “John,” Nolan does have Daggett appear as a corporate rival of Wayne’s who hires Bane to take Gotham’s most famous citizen down a few pegs. Much like in the animated series, Daggett’s plans don’t exactly turn out as well as he planned…

Also the scene is prolonged much more than just your typical broken neck. There are more sounds coming from the room with Bane and Daggett than just a twist/snap, there are muffled sounds like he rearranged his face perhaps.

When Bruce visits Fox for the first time, Fox says something along the lines of "so, you've come out of your cryo-sleep." Just like Mr. Freezes wife is in.

They are silly easter eggs, just like the Killer Croc one being only one liners and such, but nonetheless its still entertaining that specific words, sounds, and names were used in the movie.
