Ah, if there's a no contract option then that's a whole different story, the last time I dealt with AT&T a few years ago it was two years our nothing.

I might even look into them myself if that's the case, Sprint's coverage has gone to crap the past year.

Are you looking to upgrade just CPU and keep the MB you have? Also get this RAM, it's cheaper 1.5v RAM with same timing/clocks and won't screw up big air coolers.

    EDIT:: Reposted in other thread.

Got an email back from Gigabyte, RMAed my card due to fan noise.... just kinda curious on the repair invoice it says

    MEMO
    Fan noise

Does that mean it was fixed... or... rather vague.

If it was RMAed, chances are it was replaced.

Does anyone have a spare Male to male 6pin to 6pin PCIe cable that I can buy?

Couldn't you just buy one from a store? Assume you want something like this.

Can anyone recommend a desk mount for monitors or learn me on what to look for? I'd really like to free up some desk space but I'm not sure what to consider or if my desk is strong enough to support one.

    Wait, what?
What are you trying to hook up to that converter? I hope not a card that needs 8pin.
6pin can deliver up to 75W, 8pin up to 150. If you split the 8pin into 2 6pins is should be ok (though not 100% sure about it), but an 8+6 card would overload the rail.

Recently bought a XFX DD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition and seem to be experiencing a weird issue in FFXIV. No clue what the actual problem would be called, but when the game is loading models (happens more frequently in ul'dah), random textures/images flash on the screen for a second and then disappear. I've seen what looks like the goobbue horn/inventory bag icon and what looked like the sparkly blue "quest completed" icon pop up.

Card isn't overheating (never goes above 50C when playing FFXIV) and I'm using the latest drivers (12.8 ) and haven't messed with clock settings.

Screenshot is just a ms paint mock-up since the randomness makes it impossible to capture.

Should I just go ahead and RMA it?

Why? Sleeping Dogs and $230 for a HD 7870 is very good value, even at stock it can be on par with a 660Ti under certain conditions (high MSAA and/or resolution) and can OC to around HD 7950 performance

@ Katagai: Could try downloading Unigine Heaven and run it on max settings and see if there are any artefacts, does this happen with games other than FFXIV?

Ran Unigine and had 0 artifacts at 58C+ temps (was fullscreened so I wasn't able to see my tray). Don't have many games installed (I don't do a whole lot of PC gaming). Ran Diablo 3 and PSO2 perfectly fine. Going to download Sleeping Dogs on Steam and see if I have any issues with that.

His 7870 is $259, but that is just my opinion.

How far away from a iron radiator do I need to keep my pc, modem/router, and surge protector? I live in an old house in Chicago with only 2 grounded wall sockets in the dining room that I can set up my pc. The way it is currently set up, the surge protector is about 1.5ft from the radiator. The modem is about the same. The pc is about 3 feet away from the radiator on a table. As I live in Chicago, its going to be getting very cold soon. Does anyone know an appropriate distance I should have my stuff for when the radiator gets turned on?

If I use the socket on the other side of the room, I would have to cross the main walkway through the room and there are children about. In fact, one of them stepped on the power strip connection I had into the surge protector and bent the 3 prongs. Still works. My surge protector in its current position can be turned about 2.5ft away from the radiator but would be more likely to be stepped on in that position.

Leave the window open a crack, and I'd say 3 feet is fine.

See if you can get a sheet of "non flammable" fabric or whatever to put between the modem and the radiator if youre worried

Also try changing AA modes or disabling AA. MLAA (morphological anti aliasing) is a post-processing filter, and relatively new (was a new thing for the 6800 series). The more common problem I've seen is black screen issues (Guild Wars 2 beta (at least), Sonic Generations, etc) but I think I've occasionally run into other quirks with it too.

Restore in on itunes if you want to update because there isnt a jailbreak for Ios 6 yet anyway
