Jo; I would like budget but I'd also like sturdy; that's the second pair that got busted in 3-4 months. If there's a pricer headset/pair of headphones that will hold up better, I'll save for it and get a cheap one to hold me until I can afford the pricer one.

I know Evee's curious but she doesn't need to breaking my stuffs.

About $20 at the moment, but if there's some (or a headset) that are more expensive that can take some rough stuff (Aka. 4 year old yanking at them) I'll save for 'em, but will get a cheap one to hold me until I can afford the more expensive one. Mind I use these on the tv too.

Is there any way to make thunderbird always send emails from a specified account, unless i manually select a different one, instead of defaulting to whichever account i have selected? Alternatively, asking confirmation before sending from a specified email would also work fine.

What is good free program I can use to make a copy of a Windows Installation disc that will actually work? I want to make a back-up of my disc for storage purposes in case something happens to my main disc. Windows 7 if that matters.

So apparently the Chinese are trying to access my RDP port:

I need to have RDP available since I access my PC from out of the house fairly often, but I don't feel extremely comfortable knowing that they're basically just brute-forcing my password away from accessing my PC(I've disabled the port forward for now). Is there something I can do to be a bit more secure with this? I've used RDP for awhile and never seen a notice like this before today, but it's happened twice so far today.

Hm... Dunno if the microsoft RDP client is "smart" enough for it, but you could try to change the (external) RDP port to something other than 3389. Set your port forward so that the external port gets redirected to 3389 on the inside, then just connect to yourpublicip: port (without the space, had to do it because of smileys...). As long as the RDP client isn't hard coded to 3389, that should work.

You could use Teamviewer instead of RDP too

If not do this

Start Registry Editor.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber
On the Edit menu, click Modify, and then click Decimal.
Type the new port number, and then click OK.
Quit Registry Editor.
Restart the computer.

To change RDP port and iirc you should be able from the client to do exempe X.X.X.x:3390

Anyone have experience with VirtualBox? I have Windows Server 2008 R2 installed with Active Directory/DNS/DHCP configured with a static ip. I've also got a backup domain controller, another instance of 2008 R2, with a static ip as well. For clients, I have one virtual instance of Win 7 Pro already assigned to my domain and within my predefined subnet. The server and 7 Pro client can ping among themselves and remote desktop works.

What do I need to do to allow my instance of Win 7 to get internet access/how do I configure a gateway out, or is it even possible?

edit: Just searching around apparently the way I have VirtualBox configured as an internal network and not incorporating my host pc it's not possible to communicate/get web access outside of my environment. If this is the case will I be able to install Exchange within my lan?

Dealing with a Galaxy S3 annoyance and google is failing me. Issue is with the music players. I first started with Google Play as the music player, but I ran into an issue where the damn thing pauses between tracks and I have to hit the power button to continue, and sometimes even then hit play. No bueno when driving. So I switched to the default music player app which does not have that problem, but forgets to shuffle when I'm done, unplug my headphones, and come back later, such as when I plug it into the car. Any idea to fix this, or if not a recommendation of a free app to handle music that can shuffle and not suck ass.

My PC recently died and I don't have a tech-savvy friend around ATM. I'm pretty much brain dead retarded when it comes to PCs, I could use some help with suggestions on what I should be looking for regarding specs and prices for a new PC. I'm not looking for anything fancy, as long as it can run ffxi with decent graphics. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm in the US (CA) and yes, pre-built would be better, otherwise I'll screw up on something. Budget wise 700-800 range, I would like to keep it Under 700 if possible. Sorry for the lack of info, and thanks in advance!

If you are spending that much then I highly recommend considering custom, it's a lot easier than it seems and you could get something like

instead of something like this PoS or the some-what better but still horrible this. If you do insist on buying a prebuilt then use a site that allows you to customise the build, you still won't get anything near custom built quality/bang for buck but at least you won't be getting scammed by pre-pre-builts.

Custom build is always $100~200 cheaper than those (can drop off the SSD to get above under $700). iBP seems better for the in budget options but there are probably other sites.

However that said, you don't need to spend anywhere near that much if all you are after is FFXI and light gaming:

Could anyone recommend me for HTPC parts? Specifically CPU/MB/RAM and some cases, case/PSU combos.

I have my eye on the newer of the AMD APU (5K series) But open to other suggestions. I want to try and stay under 500 for those 4 pieces as I have the other items going into the build.
