Good to hear, I just dont trust myself that I won't forget something and burn all my stuff up in the middle of a XIV marathon and was hoping their build quality was good.

So I bought a 3.5mm female jack to RCA converter so I could plug my Sennheiser pc350s into my tv for use at night so I don't disturb anybody else, the quality is fine but the volume is slightly less than I would like it to be.
Is there a cheap amp I could buy or another way to bump up the volume that I don't know about?
Changing the volume on the TV does nothing, and when I go into the sound options and switch it to sound system it takes away any control over the volume on the TV anyways. It's a Sony KDL-40VE5 if that helps.
The one thing I really did like about them was when I "built" my pc and submitted the order, they called me the following day to let me know the card reader I selected wouldn't work with my case and gave me some other options instead of just hosing me on a ten dollar part.
A family member got an older hand-me-down laptop recently and was looking to do what he can as far as updating the hardware. The hard drive's an old 4200rpm SATA I drive and presumably the MB is SATA I as well. Would an SSD be noticeable here? Crystaldisk benchmarks the current at like 30MB/s read/write and I figured even the cheapest SSD would max out the 150MB/s bandwidth on SATA I. I thought it'd be a worthwhile purchase since he can still make use of it in the case he buys something newer later on. The design of the laptop seems to make heat really noticeable so I thought a 7200rpm drive would just be unbearably hot.
Yes, an ssd will always be a massive improvement.
I recently started using chrome and while on BG (or any other site) if there are a lot of .gifs the page slows to a crawl and gets hung up and the .gifs do not play proper. How can I fix this?
What is ffxi like on integrated graphics? I might have to play on an Intel HD 4000 for a couple of months. Is dual/tri-boxing possible? I know ffxi is an old game, but integrated graphics aren't great either and I'm not sure what the relation between CPU and GPU workloads are for this game.
I'd like to play some emulator games on my Galaxy Tab 2, and I've heard I can use a bluetooth controller for this purpose. Is this feasible with most Android emulators? If there are only some emulators that support controllers, recommending one and a controller to go along with it would be appreciated. Also, are there PS1 emulators that the Tab 2 could run? Basically what I'm saying is I'd like to be able to play FFT on my tablet with a controller, lol.
When it comes to networking I know nothing. Moving soon and getting a 50 mbps connection so I'll need a modem/router. Originally I was gonna go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16825122014 cause they sell it where I work and I can get a discount but was wondering if there was something better and hopefully cheaper... still need to buy an air conditioner D:
You need to ensure that your modem is compatible with your connection, for one. For instance, a Cable Modem is different from a Fios modem. Also, I prefer a modem that is separate from my router, however given that you don't really mess with that stuff, getting a 2 for 1 item will probably save you money.
The one you listed is a Cable modem with 4 Ethernet plugs and wireless built it. It's a good starter item if you are actually getting a cable connection and not DSL or FIOS. Should last for years.
Sorry didn't mention but it is cable internet and the only requirement is Docsis 3.0 which the one I listed has. Just saw a bit of negative feedback on it so now I'm not so sure about it.
I've got that modem. No problems here. Pulling down 70+mbps on a 50mbps regularly.

Is this just coincidence or for real? So, I've been getting a lot of random disconnects and it's been very annoying. Century link is just... I can't fathom.. Is it at all possible that if I click on a thread such as RIT or the youtube thread, that it can boot me from the net for some reason? I've been noticing that my net goes out right about the same time I start loading a RIT full page or click the youtube thread. Coincidence or is it actually doing something?
So my new job gave me a Dell Ultrabook, where is a good place to pick up a carrying case with a shoulder strap that isn't too pricey? (aka like 20-30 bucks)
Welp guy came out to set the cable up today and it turns out (according to Tier 2 support) that modem does not work. Have one of theirs now with ping @ 10 ms, 48mbps down and 5.6 up according to speedtest :D this should work out nicely. All set to move in monday.
Ok, so yeah. Whenever I go to a pic heavy thread in RIT, my net DCs. Is there a way to fix this?
Do I need to sign into a Japanese Sony Entertainment Account to be able to type Japanese on the PS3 in FFXIV? Or can I just simply change the language on my current PSN account?
Sorry, never mind. Found my answer.
What are some good programming languages to start off learning + good resources to learn such languages? Since it's summer job i'm working isn't as active so I want something to fill my time other then browsing reddit lol. I've done basic scripting in Powershell and mashed together VB scripts, done bash scripts and did a little bit of C+ back in the day.
