Is anyone pretty smart with "Numerical Precision" Floating point format, binary coded decimal, exponential format? And willing to help me out with some stuff via PM. I have a paper due for class and I'm flailing. Badly.

Hey; I'll think about it,especially if I get a PS3. ^^ Right now it doesn't make sense to try to steal one of 'neko's controllers (he'd kick my butt) and he'd prolly gank any ps3 controller for his PS3 that I bought because he'd think it was his. (He has the only PS3 in the house right now.) If I had a PS3 tho I'd have a reason to have the controllers that wouldn't involve looking out for the brother. ^^ (I mean he's nice and all, but there are some lines you don't cross.)
The mic on my Steelseries Siberia v2 headset blew out this weekend. I got over a year out of them before they went, but it still feels like I got burned. Can anyone recommend me some solid alternative headsets?
Can psu coil whine lead to pc damage? My seasonic x650 has been whining lately at idle. I have had it for 7 months or so. I always forget to check if it does it under load. I cant atm cause at work. I dont feel like buying a new one to use while rma is being processed.
Bought a new laptop at work, and randomly the screen will go black, then show for a couple seconds very zoomed in, then go back to normal.
It almost seems like the video card may be failing, but I get no alerts through Windows 8. I updated the video card but am still having the issue. I don't believe anything shortcut is being hit on the laptop as it essentially fixes itself after a couple of seconds. When the screen is zoomed in, it centers on the screen and has a very big black boarder.
Any thoughts or ideas?
It sounds almost like something is setting off the Windows accessibility zoom function, but I don't really have a clue what's actually happening.
It kind of seems like that is what is activating too, but I've watched it happen. I had them stop touching everything the moment the screen goes black, yet it continues to go through the cycle.
Anyone have a recommendation of software to create iso's from dvd's?
Have you tried DVD Decrypter?
Yes but it doesn't work in certain instances
Tried Imgburn?
Im not sure why when you said DVD Decrypter I thought you said DVD Shrink. Is http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/ the now place to get DVD Decrypter?
So work gave me a Galaxy S4 and I really want to root it, but after asking if I could (This is a tech job) I was told no.... that said, is rooting an android still pretty risky in terms of bricking it? Also is there a method to "unroot" it back to factory default at any point? (aka can I root this thing and then unroot it when a year comes up and I need to get the phone replaced or have it checked on, etc etc.)
Anyone here have a Samsung TA350 series monitor or any samsung tv/monitor? Was wondering if anyone had an issues with them turning off randomly.
I've got a 24" model that seems to be having power trouble lately. It may be an overuse issue, but the last two days after about 10-12 hours of use the monitor will begin to go through a power on/off cycle. I've noticed that the upper right hand corner of the monitor will be hot to the touch compared to the rest of it, so I thought it might be overheating. However, even after cooling it with a fan it'll still be a little fussy for several minutes. I've been looking some stuff up on google and I think it may have to do with the power supply inside, but I'm not sure. My other monitor, an SA350, doesn't have any trouble at all after being on for extended periods. I've tried plugging it into separate power sources when it is failing to turn on with no luck. Not sure what else I can do aside from taking it apart, but these things aren't really designed for that...
If anyone has dealt with something like this before I'd appreciate some advice/help.
My laptop is failing during start up.
I have access to startup repair (hasn't worked), system restore (didn't help), system image recovery, windows memory diagnostic, command prompt, and lenovo product recovery, which I would like to avoid as it looks like it wipes everything.
I can also interrupt startup, which gives me access to BIOS setup utility, diagnose hardware, recover system, and choose a temporary startup device.
The problem started when I attempted to move 34 GB of music from my iPod to my computer. It got stuck on one file for a long time so I tried to cancel, which was also stuck for a long time. I pulled up task manager to close it (the copying process that was still trying to cancel). At this point, my entire bottom screen bar disappeared, so I tried to log off. After sitting on the logging off screen for 15 minutes, I shut it down manually.
I probably did like 10 stupid things in the above paragraph but if anyone has advice it would be greatly appreciated. A system restore from 2 days ago didn't solve the problem and the few previous restores before that would only reverse vlc player updates.
Where is it failing during start up? Is it showing the Windows logo and at some point just hanging? And how is it failing?
Just general questions, but I'm not sure of how to approach it other than suggesting a repair install. It's kind of a happy medium between trying to solve ambiguous software problems and not needing to reinstall everything and lose your data and programs. This link gives you the rundown of what to expect and how to go about it: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...r-install.html - if there's a problem with that, though, I'd just try to give more information and see what happens.
Blanca Suarez should try to scan the hard drive for errors to attempt a fix via cmd prompt. If that doesn't work scan the HDD to see if it's dying w/ some hdd tool or a manufacture one.
It boots normally before stopping on a windows error recovery screen.
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."
Then it gives the option to launch startup repair, which ends with "windows cannot repair this computer automatically."
"If you have recently attached a device to this computer, such as a camera or portable music player, remove it and restart your computer."
Then I have access to advanced options for system recovery.
Actually sounds like the hard drive is failing. That's why it got hung up on that file initially, that's why it won't boot right now.
