My Documents decided to "optimize" itself for documents, which involves sorting everything into the most fucktarded system I've seen:

sort by any category and it still maintains the groupings, so you get to look for the same file in four places instead of one! Genius! Turn it off in Properties.

I haven't checked any of my comps since the update, but I get mad just when they switch from list to icon. If they are sorting by date I'll be pissed. Should be home from work in a few hours and I'll hopefully remember to check then.

XSS is cross-site script. XSS can allow a website other than the one you're on to inject code and run malicious scripts. Unless you completely trust the site you were on when you received the error, I'd keep that blocked.

So I'm looking to upgrade my video card since it can't handle a damn thing anymore and my games freeze constantly. I'm not looking for an expensive upgrade (I plan on doing a complete rebuild in the next year or two). But I have no idea what would be a decent affordable upgrade (like $100-$150). I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS. Looking at all these different things makes me feel like a dyslexic in trigonometry class. Any help would be appreciated.

More likely the airways in your laptop are getting clogged. Extra fans won't help if the hot air inside the computer has nowhere to go. Take apart when you can (usually the bottom panel and keyboard are enough) and take a can of compressed air to it. Blow out the fans, and the airways leading to and from the processor. Pay attention to the gap between the processor heatsink and the computer chassis, sometimes dirt/hair/fuzz gets stuck in there.

It didn't look like things were very clogged when I took it apart, but after blasting it, the computer is running about 20C cooler. Thanks a bunch!

If you need a cheap but decent GPU there's this PowerColor HD 5770 for $99.99 after rebate. Or if you want some more power there is a ASUS GTX 460 (768MB) for $120 after rebate. A 5770 should be able to play most games with decent settings but 460 for $20 more isn't a bad deal at all.

However you may have to upgrade your PSU if your last card was a 8600. You should be able to tell by looking at PSU, needs to be at least 450W for either of the cards.

It's pretty standard, if not a little on the pricey side prior to the rebate. Post-rebate, it's a solid deal - I've seen 5770s for ~$90 post-rebate, but XFX is a solid brand.
A 5770 is the current bang-for-the-buck at around $100...but as mentioned a few posts above, you can possibly find something a bit better for not a ton more, like that GTX 460 for $120 post-rebate. Depends on budget I suppose.

Having a problem with Youtube in firefox. The page itself loads but the video doesn't. I know this is a fairly common issue and the solution is usually to just clear the cache, but that hasn't worked this time. Problem just cropped up last night without my changing anything that I can recall. Youtube videos do play in IE. Using version 3.6.18 of Firefox and version 10.3.181.34 of the flash plugin.

I just built a new computer for my parents, everything went perfect last night. Turned it on, started to install windows, but I realized I was using the old windows 7 beta cd, so I stopped it, and shut the computer off.

Today, after grabbing a newer version of win7, I go to turn the computer on, and it... doesn't turn on. At all. Tried different power cables, tried from different plugs, hitting the power button doesn't do anything at all. No lights on the mobo turn on or anything. Did something happen to the PSU overnight? wtf
