Oh cool. How do I set QOS then? I'm bad at this sort of thing.

Go into qos menu, and set your IP as high priority, and everyone else as low.
There is also Traffic Shaping listed. Can that cap it?
I tried messing with the priority but it seems the same (so far). I might of done it wrong since it is pretty fucking complicated.
Yes, you should be able to set a cap with that.
If you cannot figure something out, feel free to screenshot the menu, and i'll explain it.
QoS can be a science for itself ^^
Traffic shaping in most cases means the router uses higher priority for time critical stuff like video/voice streams, DNS requests etc and slows down downloads to achieve that.
Another option would be to get another router with more options. The top class concerning price/performance are IMHO mikrotik routers. Mikrotik is a small company from Latvia that developed a really powerful router OS that can pretty much do anything network-related. Only "downside" is you first have to learn how to configure itBut they have a wiki with many tutorials and example configs for certain scenarios.
Their smallest router is the RB750, costs around 50$ but has the full feature set of RouterOS. The firewall lets you configure tons of parameters, you can limit the traffic of certain network protocols or could even cap the available traffic for any but your own PC.
RouterOS isn't trivial to configure if you want to go into details, but with such ignorant guys in your network it might be worth the effort... ^^;
Found the sounds of it, if your not able to mess with their PC are they even hooked into your router? Sure they maybe on the same network as you, but if they aren't getting an IP from your router any modifications you make won't effect them. If they are physically hooked/wifi'd into your router you can ignore this post.
There's no way to get an iTouch with more than 64GB, is there?
I have a fios router, so changing it is not an option. Here are some pretty screenshots.
Uh oh.. someone's been downloading like crazy and been uploading at maximum speed all fucking day again.
Spoiler: show
I have no idea what any of this means, but it doesn't work. I've had a torrent all night and it hasn't broken 100 kbs upload or download.
Spoiler: show
More shit that doesn't work.

Try setting the priority for their computer lower. And what options are available under the traffic shaping?
Yes, you set qos right, though again, you may want to lower theirs to 1-2.
What's under the class identifier menu? Can you define a different class per user?
there's gotta be a goddamn guide for the router, this is dumb. generally for QoS you also have to set a limit that's around 90% of your maximum bandwidth and I don't see that either so stabbing in the dark seems like the wrong way to go about this.
It's a verizon fios router. Model MI424-WR. There is no guide or w/e that came with it. :/
Anyway, here is the class identifier menu.
Spoiler: show
Fuck if I know how to use it. Also lowered them down to 2.
shiiiiiiiit, nah I didn't mean an actual guide but like an internet nerd that compiled all of this shit for you months ago because you can't be the only one to run into this shit.

here's the google search within dslreports if none of the above helps:

Manual at http://support.actiontec.com/doc_fil...30.16.0_v1.pdf
Skimmed over it (wtf 213 pages...), and it looks like setting a new class via class identifier for their ip (make sure you set a static ip for them too) will allow you to set traffic shaping options for them, to limit bandwidth.
Which of these two should I get?

Both have recommended resolutions of 1920x1080, though. Someone had mentioned 1920x1280, so are those no good?
If anyone's seen anything similar/better for a similar price (sub 150ish) feel free to link!
Are you interested in something besides a TN panel? There's actually a pretty good sub-150 selection of IPS and other types of panels, but for a lot of these TN panels, finding one with good ratings and the features/inputs you want is usually enough since they're all pretty similar now.
I have no idea what the difference in panels is. @_@
Mostly should I be finding something with 1920x1200 as the recommended resolution? Or is 1920x1080 fine? Leaning toward that HANNspree at the moment. I'd be using the DVI cable with it, obviously, should I be trying to find something with HDMI? Don't really know the difference between those two..
hdmi and dvi are identical.
If you can find a 1920x1200 monitor in your price range, get it, otherwise 1080 isn't really that much smaller.
