The 2 female to 1 Female adapter is to have both the PS3 and Computer audio into the same source so I wouldn't need to switch the cables every time. Can try to write it in plain english if it helps.
Should work...? Though, if the PS3 is like the 360 you can't use both HDMI and the old 3 prong RCA composite connectors at the same time. The only way to make any of it shorter that I can see is that there should exist a 2 RCA female to 3.5mm female Y cable. (I have one, though it came with my speakers.)

Herp, my bad. It would be kind of cool, just not exactly the most useful thing ever.

    Looks fine to me.

It's not. Ps3 allows audio and video to be set separately. I use hdmi->dvi to my monitor, and rca->3.5mm to speakers myself.

Thanks both, just what I was looking for and yeah, as long as the sound is set through the PS3 menu to use optical or analog instead of the HDMI port you can use alternate audio sources while using the HDMI port for video.

edit: just for reference in case this gave anyone ideas, what I laid out for a splitter doesn't work unless you can find a 2F to 1F 3.5mm splitter which from what I can tell isn't even a thing. Changing it and just using one to one source because of how many adapters that'd be involved.

    Continuing my search...

    I am currently considering:

http://www.acer.us/ac/en/US/content/model/LX.RHJ02.204 (This page doesn't seem fully accurate, it actually has a numpad, and a usb3 port that isn't really mentioned there, see newegg page instead I guess: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...cer%20AS5830TG )

Pretty good battery life, great price, and I love the blue <_<

Only negatives is that I'm not used to using a keyboard with a numpad, and the arrow buttons look kinda freakishly small. And the 1366x768 seems kinda small for a 15inch laptop? (My current 14inch is also 1366x768 and it already feels a bit cramped. I don't even want to imagine trying to 3box with that little amount of space, lol. Although, the only times I'll really game that "heavily" are when I'm not at home(wherever my desktop is) so chances are I'll probably have a monitor/tv to hook up to, so it wont be THAT big of a deal? idk)

Still researching, I guess, just looking for comments >.>

edit: I also can't find the newer 6782 model online anywhere (outside of acer's website), just the 6614, but I have no idea what was changed in the newer model or anything <_< I think I could probably find it in stores, maybe, idk.

I used http://www.notebookreview.com/reviews/ for reviews if you want to try that out. They do tests for heating, battery life, and other stuff you would be interested in (preposition...).

So is there any possible way to show a netflix stream to someone else? Like say using skype's screen share but with audio as well?

If you're going to break the law, you may as well do it in 1080p.

I'm looking at this combo deal for a new power supply and vid card for my Dell XPS 420.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.784994

What do ya'll think? Think I can go with a cheaper power supply, and put the money towards a better vid card a different way? My budget is around $200, so this fits comfortably in there.

You won't really save much money by using a lower watt psu. That one is only $52 after rebate, before the the $10 combo discount. This is 430w, and costs $37 after rebate. 430w should be plenty, but if you upgrade in the future, you may be more likely to be able to reuse a 500w psu for the new build. And you'd only see a $5 savings anyway. Up to you there. If you don't care about efficiency, you can get cheap 500w psus for ~$15, though ymmv due to higher electric costs. You may or may not save money in the long run by going that route, though you still may want to consider the short term gain.

Ok, with all that in mind, how about these two? I'm terribad at comparing things, but gpureview is saying that the 6850 should give me better performance then the 550ti, and the power supply is less expensive then the one that originally came in the combo, so in total I'm getting more performance for the same price. Anything I'm missing or should take into consideration?

    RAIDMAX is a bottom tier (aka shit) PSU manufacturer, I would personally spend a bit more on a better PSU like these: Seasonic 520W $60 + $10 P&P, Corsair 500W $50 + $2 with rebate or Antec 520W $55 + $3

EDIT:: And for $10 more (and $7 less shipping) there's this PowerColor HD 6870 although PowerColor is one of the cheaper brands.

Definitely go with corsair or antec. PSU is something that you REALLY don't want to skimp out on.

Also, no one has any experience with the acer timelinex series?

I was looking at the powercooler vid card, but I wasn't sure of the quality; so I went with what I felt was the safer of the two. And I wasn't sure how important quality was to a power supply, or what was quality, so I'll definitely look into some of those psu.

That's not what I'm asking though. I have access to a netflix account, but I want to share a stream with someone else without paying extra.

Any tips on monitor calibration? Would any of this apply? http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=948496 Thought it was meant for TVs and can't find a calibration profile for a U2212HM

Which is still breaking the law :3.

My gf and I can both stream at the same time, if I'm on the PC and she's on 360. I don't know about streaming to two pcs at the same time though, try that out.

Yeah, i got that. And i'm not really sure why you want to. You can do it with skype, but it'll be shit quality. If that's what you want, then use skype. if you just want to stream video illegally, use torrents.
