Anyone have recommendations for a relatively cheap desk mic? Ideally I need something that will be strong enough to pick up my voice while I sit back in my chair but not pick up me clicking away at arcade stick buttons, if it's sub-$20 that'd be nice too since there's a chance I'm going to disassemble it and frankenstein it into something else.

So, I wanna redo my music files. Right now, they're mostly mp3 with varying bit rates. I'm looking to standardize them as something closer to lossless if I can. I mainly listen to music in my car through my Ipod classic connected to an AVIC-D3. Looking for suggestions on wut to do. I've heard of Rockbox, but I'm not sure if that's a viable option.

What were you doing when it happened? It may be nothing. Or it could be a problem with the driver, which may or may not be fixed by updating to a different version. Or your card could be dying. If it only happens when running certain program(s), then i'd try updating drivers. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps happening.

I always see http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B00029M...etteraddons-20 recommended as a compliment to headphones whenever gaming headsets get mentioned, but it's meant to clip on the headphone cord so if you aren't using any you'd have to figure out something for that. Also I used to get that display driver pop-up and from what I read it seemed like it was a default response to the card overheating, but from reading some threads just now the explanations are all over the place.

Yeah, that's why I asked here, googling the error did me no good lol...the temperature/fan activity of the card all look normal per GPUZ so I don't think that's it.

I'd ignore it then, unless it happens again. Sometimes shit just happens. Twice in an hour is strange, but the second could have been caused by the first crash, or whatever caused it. If it does happen again, first thing i'd do is update drivers, and it continues happening after that, it could be an issue with the card.

I get this shit all the fucking time and it happens sometimes while cruising the net and other times when playing games. Been doing it for months and despite updating drivers, defragging and many other quick fixes it still happens. Dunno what to do or how to fix it. Very annoying.

Funny you have this issue too, but it happens with my ATI HD3800 series card.

It 90% of the time happens on BG while in the random image thread, and maybe once a day it happens. It also happens when I view pictures from my HDD. I can scroll through pages and pages of BG pictures, then all of a sudden my screen will go dark, and then the GPU will recover. Same thing with HDD pictures, ill flip through some, and then there will be a white bar going through one picture, and the next causes a crash. But when I go back to those particular pictures that caused the crash, everything is fine.

My GPU had always worked fine, and then one day a few months ago I upgraded my drivers (after about a year) and then it started to happen.
Upgrading to current drivers never fixed the problem, reformating didnt fix the problem either.

I forget which drivers I had at the time where I didnt have any issues, so I cant test the theory that it's just bad drivers.
So im just going to chaulk it up to the card probably overheating or ready to keel over.


How old is your GPU? It seems the older the GPU and the newer the drivers, the more issues there are.
Perhapse try using the original drivers that came with your GPU just to see, maybe ill give that a shot too.


It's an odd situation, and even more odd it happens on your card, thats a different brand (though im sure there are alot of physical and logical similarities), when your browsing BG too.

How old is your card?

Maybe the companies are putting in self destruct code in their newer drivers for older cards so that people are forced to buy newer models!

Question about QoS, is anyone aware of whether or not I have to setup rules for every machine if I want to setup QoS priority for the router port my voip is on? How are other ports and IPs treated if there's only a rule for one port?

I received this issue prior to my laptop breaking down. I believe the issue was related to running CampAH with FFXI. I don't know if this is an issue with the program or leaving FFXI running though. However, I never received overheating errors (Or GPU issues) prior to CampAH/Clipper. The latter has been resolved and both clipper and Exiled haven't posed issues on other laptops. CampAH seems to be the primary cause in my case; however, the program takes a lot of memory by comparison, so there could be a larger issue towards which CampAH contributes.

Recommendations for a solid flight stick preferably under $40?

I apparently was going to receive one of these ( http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Extre...sxp_grid_i_0_0 ) for Christmas, but the seller sent this instead ( http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Freed...5127089&sr=1-1 ) and left a corroded battery in it so the unit was completely unusable by the time I received it. He refunded my buddy, but now that I know he was trying to get me a flightstick I figured I'd help him out with looking for solid models.

It's sad, too, because I like the feel of this stick but even after cleaning out all the battery acid it's still not working properly. Buttons are always pressed down, handle twist is completely off-center, other buttons just don't work at all. I'm leaning towards just getting the same one (Corded version, the one I was supposed to get) but if there's something better I don't know about I'd definitely be interested.
