I've got a non-touchscreen Kindle. Not sure exactly what model, but I just bought it a few weeks ago for $80.
And I'm wondering how to change the screensavers on it. I don't see any option to do so, but I assume there has to be a way to find the hidden file that holds that kind of info.
I was fine with the screensavers before I registered the kindle. They were just bland pictures of stuff like typewriter keys, pencils and such, but I was fine with it. But now that I have registered it, every screensaver is an ad for amazon or t mobile or some stupid book. Why would throw ads at you after you registered it? You would think it would be the opposite. punish those who haven't registered and then reward those who did. I don't give a shit that angelina jolie wrote and directed some shitty movie, and I definitely don't want anyone thinking I do.

The latter has been resolved and both clipper and Exiled haven't posed issues on other laptops. CampAH seems to be the primary cause in my case; however, the program takes a lot of memory by comparison, so there could be a larger issue towards which CampAH contributes.
I don't even have MMOs installed on this PC, much less memory-intensive background processes. I try to keep the processes running pretty barebones on this machine, the only change I've made anytime recent was adding a second monitor like over a month ago, but it doesn't appear to be stressing the hardware unless GPUZ is fibbing to me.

Is anyone aware of a home audio solution for having multiple audio inputs and outputs working simultaneously/not just switching to one or the other? I'm trying to see if using multiple pairs of wireless headphones for home use (one TV, multiple people) is a thing or not, and so far haven't found anything that would allow several pairs of RCA jacks to all receive sound from one audio receiver at the same time.

Only way i think thatd work is to have a splitter hooked up to the recievers output, and another splitter to that, etc etc until you have all you need. Obviously not the best solution, but itll work?

I lost the micro receiver for a keyboard and mouse I have.

Is there any way I can still use them or will they only work with the receiver they came with?

Just cleaned up a PC with Malwarebytes. All files now will not point to their correct .exe. I remember reading something here about a fix for this.

You can probably buy a new receiver.

There isn't a quick fix for this. If it was just .exe files not running that is easy (I think this is what you might have read about). Fixing all file associations is harder. Try having a read of this microsoft's advice

You can also right click a file and select 'open with...' choose default program. Setting it to all files of that type is checked by default but make sure it is if you want that.

I need halp. Working on my dad's computer, removed about 20 trojans and malware. Stupid virus essentially changed the properties on every item in the computer to "hidden." I "un-hid" everything on the computer, but his wireless connection still isn't working. I cannot system restore because the viruses wrecked that, doubt I can find where the old disc is to format the HDD. Essentially, the computer gets stuck on "acquiring network address." I restarted the router, computer multiple times (obv) but still nothing. I've tried multiple things online, still nothing it's being a pain the ass. Any ideas?

You made sure the proxy settings are set to automatic? Normally that is what causes this.

In IE open options, select internet settings, connection tab, then Lan settings, make sure 'automatically detect settings' is checked and everything else is clear. You might if using firefox or chorme need to change their settings but IE ones do the windows ones.

Yup, that is all checked and done. I have no idea how to proceed with this other than back up, format and torrent an XP/7 Disc. I really really really don't want to have to do this.

Is he on Windows 7? You can always try a repair install, should retain all the data and programs while reinstalling the guts.

I'm guessing you have tried all the normal things like reinstalling the wireless adapters driver. Make sure it isn't set to an IP address outside the dhcp pool etc Sorry I can't be much more help can't think of anything else really.

Edit: Above post is worth a go, doesn't normally work for things like this but worth a shot.

actually, XP still has the "real" repair install option. On W7 you only have the "Upgrade" install that behaves similar. Both move the current windows-install to a windows.old folder and copy a fresh system onto the disk, the only thing that is kept are the user profiles and most installed programs (some get screwed up by it).
When only Wifi doesn't work, have you tried resetting the TCP/IP stack and winsock catalog?

So I'm having an issue with running 16gb of 1600mhz ram on my AMD system. 8GB runs fine at 1600mhz, but when I go up to 16GB I get BSOD and freezes. I've seen some workarounds for it, but haven't been able to get it to run without problems. The only thing that works for me was to downclock the RAM to 1333mhz.

So my question is, would I be better off using 8gb at 1600mhz, and returning the other 8GB to Newegg, or use the full 16GB but at 1333mhz?

I dont even think there is any real benefit for 16gb of memory.... maybe I'm wrong though.

If you are actually using the 16 gb of ram, then running it at 1333 mhz will obviously be better. Of course, if you're even considering only using 8 gb, then you almost certainly have absolutely no use for 16 gb of ram, so there'd be no reason to use 16 gb even if it would run at 1600 mhz.

check your motherboard manual. i know that some board (and/or processors) can't run the RAM with max speed when all slots are in use.
When you really need 16Gig, keep them at lower clock. The clock speed differences aren't really noticeable, they would probably be in the 1-digit % range concerning performance and that just isn't "feelable" outside of benchmarks.
