Ok, let me be more clear since that obviously went right over your head.

When I switch to the PC outlet on my tv, nothing shows up.

Now, how do I get shit to show up?

You have your TV connected to your PC monitor that's connected to your computer? The way it's supposed to work is that the TV replaces the monitor, unless I'm misunderstanding or there's an all-in-one involved.

what most LCD TVs call "PC" input is the VGA port. So unless you really hooked your PC to your TV via VGA (just don't do it...) try the other inputs.

Your monitor can't act as a hub for displays. The 15 pin VGA port you're probably talking about is just another input for your monitor. If you want stuff to show up on your TV, you need to hook it up to your PC. If you have a graphics card, there should be another output available (either VGA, DVI, HDMI, Mini-HDMI, Display port etc...) Hook that up to your TV, go to your Display settings and configure multiple displays.

Is there a way to fine tune the move speed of a mouse to a more fine degree than in the mouse menu in control panel? I just got a new mouse today and I feel like goldilocks except someone stole the setting that was just right. If I move the slide bar to the right it's too fast, if I move it to the left it's too slow.

I am currently in the market for a computer that is highly portable and could fit in my backpack with a long battery life. I've looked at a few tablets and ultrabooks, but can't really decide. The tablets are tremendously cheaper, but the lack of a keyboard and ports seems annoying. Does anyone have any experience with an ultrabook compared to a tablet? Maximum budget of 1000 dollars.

If that doesn't help, then it's probably safe to assume that no one has ever had that problem before, so there's no possible fix, unless you code it yourself.

Depends on the mouse. Any halfway decent one will have software that allows you to change the DPI and set custom levels to toggle through. Also, turn off mouse acceleration through the control panel, if you haven't. Worst "feature" ever.

Any apparent reason why a switch wouldn't be working with a router? Have multiple switches connected to this router but for whatever reason with this particular one none of the devices connected are receiving IPs nor does it look like there's any traffic.

edit: MORE LIKE NOTWORK no I fixed it I'm dumb, realized after I was moving cables around that I never connected the switch to the router lol.

Got an old PS3 (first gen, 80 gig fatty) that's been locking up lately on Battlefield 3 (not sure if that's a game issue or not). Tends to run a bit hotter lately and I switched my set up a bit to help with the cooling but it did it again yesterday. Fan speed fluctuates a bit from low hum to straight on wind-tunnel shit. I tried vacuuming it out a few times but should I try to vacuum it from the inside and risk taking it apart? Any other quick fixes or should I just break down and go the refurbishing route? Thanks.

If you suspect heat is the issue, i'd definitely take it apart and dust it properly. You can also replace the thermal paste with something less shitty if you wish.

Copying this over here since I never got a response in the XIV tech section and this is a little more broad than just XIV (although that's the main thing I want to fix).

ASUS G73JH Laptop - Crashing issues

Wondering if anyone else has this laptop and has had issues with it. My uncle has been trying to play FF14 but hasn't had any luck because what is referred to as the Gray Screen of Death. Googling it brought up a list of websites relating to the problem, but all of them talked about flashing the BIOS which I have 0 knowledge of which means he'll have even less. I also read it can brick the computer if you go wrong and since this is his only computer, I doubt he'll want to even attempt it. I'm assuming it's the GSOD because his display driver is crashing.

Most of the threads are over a year old, so is there a permanent fix that doesn't require flashing the BIOS that anyone has found since then?

GPU is a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870, CPU is a Intel Core i7 720QM(1.6GHz).

    *EDIT*
A little additional information, he said when he would have no real problems running games before updating his drivers except FF14. After updating the drivers, no matter what game he tries to play it crashes the display drivers and forces him to hardboot the system. Unfortunately I can't give you any specific drivers at the moment, but he tried to do it as soon as a month ago and it was causing the same problems as a year ago.

Downgrade back to whatever drivers were working before. Or, if he didn't do it the first time, you can try reinstalling the current drivers, after wiping them with driver sweeper.
