    Bungie is owned by Activision...Blizzard is owned by Activision... I'd only assume the rumored Blizz FPS MMO and this are one in the same

    I thought Bungie wasn't "owned" by Activision. Its just a partnership as of now from what I read awhile back.

    Doing the detective work of any good fansite, HBO.org has turned up more evidence of the rumored "Destiny" MMOFPS in development at Bungie Studios / Bungie Aerospace / whatever Bungie wants to call itself. The site discovered that a company named "Podophobia Entertainment," formed by Bungie head Harold Ryan and music composer Marty O'Donnell, had registered a trademark for "Destiny" with the image seen above. The filing is classified under "Computer game software; Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; Video game software; Virtual reality game software."

    "Destiny" is just the latest in a series of filings by the Halo dev studio, most recently incorporating "Bungie Aerospace" and trademarking "Crimson" for use with "Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; Computer game software for use on mobile and cellular phones; Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices." As you might expect, Bungie has remained quiet on the filings and has yet to respond to our requests for comment.

    No Bungie is not owned by Activison, they signed a 10 year deal with them to publish a couple new IP's. I know that was an old question, I didnt acknowledge it prior.

    How do you even do an fps mmo? Sony tried and failed one years ago that was really just like MAG, but there were regional power struggle battles that never ended. It seems like all the normal FPS multi-player games out there do all you can with the genre, give xp and access to more weapons. There are no dragons/bosses to kill that would require alliances/raids, no dedicated tank or healing classes required. All it would be is fps, toss in a tank/vehicle or something still doesn't come close to a typical mmo gameplay.

    Bungie’s new project Destiny, which will be published by Activision, will be revealed very soon, Bungie has said during its latest Community Theatre video.

    “For years we’ve been working under the cover of darkness on an entirely new unvierse,” said Bungie community manager David Dague in a fancy accent, “and you’ll get to explore it very soon. We’re not ready to lift that curtain just yet.”

    At that point, Dague’s tiger chimed in, “Everyone knows it’s called ‘Destiny‘, bro.”

    Dague continued, “Within a matter of weeks, we’ll be unveiling what we’ve been creating for you. In the meantime, keep your eyes trained to www.bungie.net so you don’t miss a thing.”

    Our sky is filled with unseen signals. Radio-frequency emissions pulse and flit and dance all around us. Yet even a singing patch of sky can be observed, and transformed into a range of frequencies.

    Can you hear it? No, not yet. It has not yet arrived. But together we can receive its call.

    Imagine combining the observations of thousands across the globe on an object meandering through the heavens. The resulting array would be quite large. Quite powerful. This is your task.

    Alone it will not be enough. Coordination and timing is needed. Observations must be made simultaneously.

    Your window will be small. Five minutes at most. But windows may be reopened. And the distance between observer pairs will be key.

    There will always be limitations in clarity, so the results must be archived for study. Highly technical observers may be required. Detailed frequency analysis is recommended.

    Everything that belongs to us will be ours, but only if we create the capacity to receive it.
