Destiny - 9/9/14 (PS3/PS4/X360/XB1)

Is there a way to check rep progress without going to the tower?

Go to the Bungie destiny website, log in, and there should be a sidebar on the left. Click the Tower, then click on the vendor associated with the rep; you will see the circle of progress on the screen (doesn't state exact progress value though).

Ts crazy that the website/mobile app is more complete then the game for stats and progress

[Serra]

Any PS3ers interested in building reputation today?

All that said, whether it's worth fully upgrading is really conditional on if Bungie fixes the poison effect. If not, I imagine both fully upgraded Hawkmoon and fully upgraded The Last Word will continue to be superior.

The poison effect is really weak and the magazine is super small. The piercing effect is barely noticeable until you accidentally kill some trash at the same time. You'd be better off using a legendary handcannon with another exotic weapon.

I think to be fair people are expecting too much from exotic weapons. They're not necessarily stronger then legendary equivalents, they're just getting some bonus effect slapped on.

Yeah, the ones that are really good have unique effects that make then worth using.

Some of the effects are amazing (Gjallahorn, Universal Remote, Hard Light, both snipers come to mind) but otherwise they're mostly fancy legendaries with unique models.

So, what you're saying is we're back to FFXI where most exotics (relics) are just marginally better and Gjallarhorn is OP?
