It's hilarious to me that they eliminated the caves (and farming in general, effectively) but didn't touch by far the most effective way to get to 30: making three of the same class and running the Raid on each of them with shared equipment.

if this is true, a hard wipe is when you or your group full wipe and have to respawn (which you have to do for the Moon mission) so I'd think probably not.

Just doing a cycle of Patrol mode (missions, chests, events etc) while watching TV 2 nights ago for maybe an hour or two I ended up with like 3 purple engrams and a dozen blues.

Now granted they all ended up being crap, but there's still decent farming out there.

That's so silly. Learn at thing or two? At least Bungie doesn't lock people out from raids for a week if you finish it unlike FFXIV which does, and only allows you to multiple times after another huge patch that adds more Coil. If people wanna go again with no extra loot possible, let em!

But yeah, FFXIV is still run pretty decently~ A shame Destiny's first major patch has to be known for nerfing all the things

I don't see removing shards from the Queen stuff and changing of some spawn timers as a major patch, pretty sure they marked it as a hot fix.

All this talk about how the removal of the loot cave ruins Destiny is ridiculous. What was the point of the loot cave? To get gear. But we're what, three weeks into the game? It is very possible to buy all legendary gear from vendors and not need the loot cave at all. I know, I bought 3/4 of my legendary pieces and could have bought the fourth if I needed it. As I mentioned earlier, the point of the Queen's raid is not for high level players looking to improve their gear. It's designed for lower players to get ready to be able to raid, and in that regard, that purpose is still intact.

And as Kaslo said, give it time and people will find a new farming spot.

But thats only if people want to grind out rep, Which can go fuck off in all MMOs imo. rep grinding is the absolute worst.
