Edit: I joined the group with the wrong account lol. My GT is linked to another one so I requested to join again. Thanks.
First off, thanks for the soundtrack -- I know what I'll be listening to for the next 5 weeks.
Second, why so many warlock fans? >.>; I'll admit, I only got warlock to 8, but that jump is so much worse than the other two, that alone would make me not want to be a warlock.
Hunter is going to be so kickass, upgradable to triple jump and a short teleport upgrade for PVP.
Playing Titan is about smashing pussy
So nothing I'm posting is new information, all of it is just my impressions of the three classes (I was planning to save it for the official BG review of Destiny, but, since it might change (and because I doubt I'll be capping Warlock and Titan), figured I'd get it out of the way now). These are impressions based on taking all three classes to level 8 and around forty hours in the crucible. Hunter was the only job I capped, so my experiences with many aspects of the other two classes are based on being on the receiving end. (Much of this was from notes I wrote during the beta, so it's not as fresh as it was then..)
Warning -- Wall-o-Text incoming~
Spoiler: show
Golden gun was awesome for choke points. I found it works best holding corners both in PVP and PvE. I'm sure later skill tree bonuses will help even it out a bit better.
I can't really speak to PvP, but I had some titan armor pieces that caused a synergy between punch and grenade timers.
Which is why you saw me dive in and start punching things at times.
Part of my problem with golden gun comes from my playstyle. Especially with PvP, I'm not the type of person who's going to stop shooting when I think an enemy is dead. I'll stop when I know they're dead -- IE, when I get the notification. The problem is, with golden gun, I can get off a second shot (or maybe even a third) before getting that message. Combustion is the one ability that I think can really improve it, depending on the size of the explosions. Depending on the size, seems like it could become a more precise, multishot version of the warlock's special.
I agree, it did feel sloppy at times, hopefully bungie noticed that. Close quarters seemed to dumb it down enough.
I supposed dead eye would help, even a little.
I liked destroying vehicles on the moon with nova bomb
The Temple of Crota BGM is boss as fuck
Walmart & Best Buy are canceling pre-orders of limited editions
http://www.vg247.com/2014/08/06/dest...lled-best-buy/Destiny fans hoping to get their hands one one of Destiny’s special editions are likely to be disappointed.
It’s not just that most retailers are completely out of stock of the very rare Ghost Edition; the more common Limited Edition is now also in short supply on all platforms.
Even if you think you beat the rush you might be have your hopes crushed; following on from Walmart’s cancellation of many Destiny Ghost Edition pre-orders, Best Buy has also begun notifying purchasers that it will be unable to fulfil orders.
A quick browse of the /r/DestinytheGame today turned up at least half a dozen such disappointments; here’s one example of the email Best Buy is sending out.
Destiny has three special editions. The least expensive and most easily obtained is the Digital Guardian Edition, which is only available via the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Store and includes an expansion pass and various in-game goodies.
Next up is the Limited Edition, which comes with all the digital content plus a steelbook case and a Guardian Folio packed with paper materials. Finally, the most rare and most expensive is the Ghost Edition, including all of the above plus Golden Age relics and a Ghost replica.

http://www.vg247.com/2014/08/06/dest...before-launch/Activision has said the Destiny beta was so successful that the full game will be largely unchanged when it goes live on September 9.
Small alterations are being made, but, Activision publishing boss Eric Hirshberg said in a financial call, “I would describe this as tweaks and not major changes, as we saw the fundamentals of the game to be very strong.
Strange that it's coming from Activision and not Bungie, but whatever..?
The limited edition is back up for preorder for 360 on Amazon -- doesn't look like it's available for any other platforms though.
Also, it wasn't said earlier, but if you guys have any friends who are going to be playing Destiny but don't have clans, feel free to forward them the link. Figure it'll help increase our eligible numbers for raids.
If I buy the digital edition from the PSN store, can I pre-download any updates and be ready to play as soon as servers are up? I don't really care for most of the extras; it's the immediate access I'm after.
PSN store maybe. I bought digital from Amazon and have to wait for 12 am est launch day for code.
Server crash is promising.
