Looking forward to playing with you guys. I agree the X1 controller > Ps4, but I'll go Ps4 since it seems to be where most people are going. I'll try to join the clan today, if you can through the site.

People are reporting that some of the talent tree abilities are changing/being shifted around (looks like it might be only Voidwalker atm). Some items too (glass shards have become motes of light). The items are likely due to changing IDs in the code, but not sure about the talent trees yet.
Serra, are you going to be using Skype or something for voice chat while playing? Last I heard, people were complaining about a lack of voice chat options in-game.
Serra i played a titan during beta, defense is typical across classes, everyone i checked at the level cap of beta had around 160 defense. Its not different just because your class is different which is a bit weird in my opinion. "Armor" stat just seems to give you more hp but you cant see how much you have just like warlocks in pvp the second they get out of combat they get health regen. I seriously hope they have tuned down warlock regen because that shit was rediculous whereas a titan i was waiting 7-10 seconds before my health even started to regen, and warlocks would run behind a wall and be back at full health a second later. also handcannon buff! hope that shit makes them loads better because there was seriously almost no reason to use one, every other weapon was better simply from the rounds pumped into the enemy. pulse rifles were meh. they getting buffed as well and thats fantastic because they were good weapons but a bit underpowered.
Most guardians i fought in the crucible seemed to die in the same amount of shots across all classes. The only difference was in the iron banner people died a little faster and it seemed that class distinctions came out a bit more.
Looking at my titan now, i have 154 defense. but i might have sacrificed a few defense upgrades for stat boosts.
I'm honestly hoping Bungie fixes the chat issues since it does seem to be a common criticism. At this point, I hadn't really thought about it, but using Skype or GChat would solve that issue. That said, I imagine I'll be soloing the missions/level binge and all that stuff won't be needed for a while. Maybe by the weekend it'll matter, but I'm not going to worry about it too much atm.
As far as the Titans' defense and the Crucible, I can see it mattering in Iron Banner, but at the same time, I see Hunters' mobility (and Warlocks' balance between the two) helping as well. The catch being, mobility is always there while defense only plays into Iron Banner. Personally, I think a big part of this is playstyle. I've never been a big CoD player, but my impressions were that it was a lot of scoping up, moving slowly, and getting off the quick shots to win matches. I have played a lot of Halo (probably too much, but that's really neither here nor now..) and Destiny's PvP feels a lot like Halo's. You still have to scope and headshots are king, but you have a lot more mobility. As a result, I'm the type of player who jumps around a lot during combat, and this is part of why I strongly prefer Hunter and using bumper jumper.
I've been thinking about this a bit, and going back to my post yesterday about control schemes, I said I was unqualified to judge whether bumper jumper is best for Warlock and Titan. I still stand by that and think there are others who are better able to talk about those two classes -- I think I played less than eight hours between the two. However, after giving it some more thought, and in the same vein as my opinions on mobility and defense, you'll always benefit from being able to jump and aim while the limitations for Warlocks and Titans using bumper jumper I mentioned only really affect your special. The more I think about it, the more I think the gains of being able to aim while jumping outweigh any limitations on using your special. But, this might also be due to how I play the game and your mileage may vary depending on your playstyle.
The thing is that warlock i think gets a levitate in midair that allows them to snipe or maybe thats hunter. titans get the shield when they sprint (which i heard is amazing). aiming while jumping causes you to immediately fall
I didn't think I saw anyone with a hover-esque movement ability. And even if so, unless that's a changed gameplay mechanic, you can't scope or fire while using a movement ability. Hunter's advantage is that their movement is so much quicker than the other two classes. Depending on how big a boost catapult is for either Titan subclass, that could do wonders for their mobility.
I figured most people would be using Shoulder Charge, not Juggernaut. Do you know if the shield is only while sprinting or lasts for a while afterwards?
Warlock sunsiger gets Angel of Light skill, which does indeed hold you in the air for a little if you aim while mid air. I was able to aim fine mid air on warlock, I mean its jump then aim but you can aim while mid air, ofc you fall right away lol

I thought the game has built in voice chat for people in your fireteam? It worked for me during beta. I teamed up with my brother and could chat while playing with no issue. If raids are 6 man and there is no random matching but only inviting people you know into your fireteam, I don't see it as a big Issue.
Having more options would be nice though.
Unless you can move a bit while in midair, the description of that ability sounds just awful..
What Bungie Learned from the Beta - David Dague Gamescom Interview
This will be mine two weeks!
Weekly Update:
http://www.bungie.net/7_Bungie-Weekl...News?aid=12054
Some of the highlights
Bungie will be at PAX on Sunday at Noon.
Game is pretty much done and they've started testing the launch version.
Clans will be reset (so we'll all have to respecify that we're PS or XBox, I think?).
Cards will be updated before the release so we know what they're for.
Servers go up on September 9th -- as in, as soon as the first timezone hits September 9th, servers go up.
And then there's this:Jackbandit Is it going to be possible to trade items in the full game?
Only with your enemies. Trade your ammo for their loot. You know the best way to deliver ammo to a Cabal Centurian? You’ll figure it out, and it’s tons of fun.
Edit: just checked, and the clan is currently disabled. I'll be sure to do whatever needs to be done on the 9th to get it back up and running asap as I sit around waiting for UPS.. The group is still there though, so feel free to join that.
From the description of the skill for sunsinger. it looks like its a straight up levitate in midair, useful for a quick snipe while having a height advantange. semi useful in pvp if they are only watching the ground. personally the ability to have a shield on titan while/after sprinting sounds Op compared to a sprint melee
The problem is if it's straight up levitate and you're frozen in place. In CoD type games, my experience is you have to pretty much pick a spot and snipe. In Halo though, you can't stand still like that. Since PS3/4 don't have a Halo-esque game, I imagine there were a lot of people who came over from CoD and those type of games, and it was pretty obvious when you'd see people who were standing still and trying to snipe. If levitate has you stuck in one place, you're going to be a huge (and easy) target.
I think it's going to depend on the maps. Based on the video of the level 29 titan, I don't think 3/4 of the beta maps would have been large enough to get either ability off, assuming the sprint needed for shield is the same as shoulder charge. But it's going to come down to how it's implemented. If it's just a shield you only have while sprinting (so that you can't be picked off as easily while running), that's ok, but honestly kinda worthless. Also depends on if it's a full shield or just frontal.
Another thing i remember from the beta, hunter and warlock both have a ranged melee whereas titan is stuck with a physical melee with no range whatsoever. I cannot count how many times i would go for the melee in pvp, and miss by a few inches, and they would counter melee as i backed away and they would kill me. This was severely lacking after doing the entire alpha and some of the beta as a warlock and then going to titan. The lack of a ranged melee really really hurts in pvp
Warlock's is ranged? I thought Hunter had the only ranged ones (both Knife throw and Blink Strike). I remember hating Warlocks because I kept using it and thinking it was AoE because of the animation, but being disappointed that it wasn't..
