I may slow down with 2.51 and 2.5 part 2 on XIV and start preparing for Heavensward, mainly just doing Nightfalls/CE

Maybe if destiny slows down I'll actually go back to the gym.
Yooooo just WTF @ Xur's stock.
I've gotta be committed to all the exotic drop locations til Gjallarhorn, can then play at leisure. At least XBros aren't a drain on Heavy Ammo Synth due to Crota mastery
RIP Hawkmoon.
Although I don't get the auto rifle nerf, who the fuck thinks those are overpowered?
It's not about them being overpowered, it's about them being the most popular weapon choice in PVE and PVP.
I still think some hand cannons will be strong as fuck even at long range.
Did it say they are gimping them in PvP only? Hope so.
Well to be fair, there is a reason they are popular.
According to the SandBox Update notes thing, the nerf for handcannons is universal. They specifically mentioned PVP only nerfs for other weapons that got them like the Fusion Rifle magazine count and Shotgun Range.
There is, but it's not necessarily because they are OP are even good. People even did DPS tests and found that 90% of the time a good Scout Rifle beats an equally good AR. In fact ARs came in third behind Scouts and Handcannons. I find it funny that they think Scouts are fine where they are when they technically have the best time to kill out of all the weapons and if you manage to get one with field scout it's not even a close competition. Granted this is as far as PVE is concerned, but again PVP balancing shouldn't affect PVE in any meaningful way. They even have PVP specific nerfs in their own notes yet continue to nerf guns that are mediocre in PVE just because they are good in PVP. It's baffling.
Yeah I mentioned it was strictly from a PVE perspective where the optimal situation is just being able to land all shots in a clip on the head/weak spot. PVP is a different matter where consistent pressure from a stream of bullets is preferred. Still just because the AR is good in PVP doesn't mean it should be nerfed universally when they can clearly make PVP specific nerfs to weapons.
Edit: Just to add, the shotgun buff also isn't really gonna do much for their popularity in PVE either. Pretty much all "end-game" activities have enemies that kill you in 2-3 hits or even one-shot you in the case of bosses. Buffing the damage of a weapon that requires you to get within arms reach of said enemies is missing the point. If they want to fix shotguns they need to make them not suicidal to use on anything above a Dreg.
So bored. Now that I've downed Crota multiple times this week on hard and normal I don't have shit else for this week. I may hold tight till after Tuesday but I may just say hell with it and level Titan up as my third character and delete my second hunter. Now I'm trying to find reasons to keep playing lately. Past weekly shit I have little reason to get on.
This is of course after I've put in some unholy amount of game play hours in. I'm not sure if I'm bitching at this point or just kinda sad my playing seems to be on its way out after all these hours. I definitely got my money's worth compared to all the other games I've played and not even cracked 100 hours(or even 50 for that matter) of play time before dumping it.
Any Xbros feel like doing a Vault of Glass tonight or tomorrow?
I don't know anyone who thinks AR's the most popular weapon of choice in PvP. Suros doesn't count, but pretty much every other AR isn't worth using. Hawkmoon and Thorn deserves a range nerf, but lets get real here, they'll assuredly fuck something up and render both obsolete.
The problem is that most popular does not always mean best. Assault Rifles are almost always the most popular gun in any given shooter because they're easy to use and always at least passably effective at most ranges. They're quickly approaching useless in Destiny because Bungie keeps nerfing the range and damage on them in the vain hopes of making Pulse Rifles more attractive by comparison. The high RoF rifles are already total garbage.
Don't get me wrong, I think Bungie is taking their ability to "balance" way too far. There's always going to be a weapon that's better than another, and Bungie needs to accept that. However, I do agree that ARs are unbalanced in PvP. In PvE, I'm almost exclusively a SR/HC user. But I use ARs in PvP because I feel I perform noticeably better using an AR.
Okay, PS4ers. Let's get some VoG/Crota done tonight
