So just out of curiosity, has Bungie said roughly how long they plan to wait between entries in the series? If I decided to sink some time into this game, would that progress carry over to sequels, or is it going to be like CoD where there's a fresh grind every release?

Nope, they haven't said anything about the time. What they have said though is that they want people to play the same character in this game, Destiny 2, Destiny 3, etc. However, they haven't said if it'll be like an MMO where you're continuing to develop the same character or if you'd be starting back at 1 with a new character.

That was the run used in beta to get tons of glimmer per hour. Guess its still good since loot scales.

This is pretty amazing. The run really hinges on getting the goldish, wonky looking chest (has like pipes in it); it is a guaranteed 2 blue engrams + 10 spinmetal + an ammo synthesis or random item. The mobs are super easy as well and you end up with a few engrams from just killing crap. In 30 minutes, I got ~50 spinmetal (5 marks), six blue engrams, and several green. Not game-breaking, but it's a nice change up from strike spam.

EDIT: Nice! Got a LV 20 Blue Sniper Rifle and Boots. First time I've even seen a LV 20; 19 was highest from strikes. I may just spam this crap.

Idk if it's mentioned in the video since they guy talks too much, but chests and spin metal respawn so you can just do Patrol and keep looping.

Done like 30 minutes, only one Engram but got legendary ship blueprint and some decent money.

Yeah, I just did it on patrol and developed a circle loop; much faster imo.

To clarify:

Vanguard Rep gained through patrols and patrol bounties; these become faction rep if you do either while wearing that faction's class item

Then there are vanguard marks earned through patrols and crucible marks earned through crucible matches. And you can trade in 50 of a collectable like spinmetal for vanguard marks.
