You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

you just answered your own question.

    Spoiler: show
ie. some horned up student couldn't keep his mouth shut about it when he found out, and I bet you would have done the same. I doubt it was the students that were upset.

Tuition at the most expensive private high school in my area is running around 30k/yr in tuition + fees + books. Thats like 4x more than my public university fees for my entire 4 year degree!

    Edit:

On ratios, went to private catholic high school. Most base level classes (history, math, sciences, spanish, religion courses) were anywhere between 25-30 to 1. Other courses (Advanced placement physics or calculus, french, latin) had anywhere between a 10:1 to 20:1.

    http://thinkprogress.org/2011/03/09/...zgerald-obama/

Senate majority leader Scott Fitzgerald states that he is trying to defund unions to help prevent Obama from winning Wisconsin in 2012.
If we win this battle, and the money is not there under the auspices of the unions, certainly what you’re going to find is President Obama is going to have a much difficult, much more difficult time getting elected and winning the state of Wisconsin.

I swear this has to be against the state constitution somehow.

So are the republicans in Wis now finally admitting that this is nothing more than a power move that has dick to do with a budget crisis? The first step is admitting you have a problem. ???. Profit.

Well, they've admitted it's a power move, I don't think they're going to acknowledge that this isn't a "crisis" though.

Everything is a crisis when you have the opportunity to scapegoat those you disagree with. Le sigh. I get the feeling that Fitzgerald guy probably says "darkies" a lot.

Well, looks like the next move is to strip the "budgetary" items from the bill and strip collective bargaining without the Democrats present, fully exposing that collective bargaining isn't affecting the budget situation.

(They need 20 Senators for a quorum to vote on budgetary matters, but only 17 [I think] to vote on non-budgetary matters - so they can do this entirely by themselves.)

Shit's happening quickly tonight, not quite sure what this means:

    http://budget.wispolitics.com/2011/0...et-repair.html
Senate approves amended budget repair bill

The state Senate quickly approved the amended budget repair bill this evening 18-1 moments after it was passed out of conference committee.

The Senate offered no debate on the bill as Sen. Dale Schultz, R-Richland Center, was the only member to vote against it.

Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca raised concerns about whether the conference committee was properly noticed, said he'd like to offer amendments and asked for details on the revised bill.

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, told Barca the bill was the same one the Assembly voted for almost 60 hours with some changes, but he did not detail what they were other than reading a statement at the beginning of the meeting that the revised bill would not trigger the constitutional requirement of 20 members being present for a vote on a fiscal bill.

None of those bastards will make reelection. The governor and 8 senators can be recalled immediately correct?

Recall signatures for the Governor will start in November. 8 Senators can be recalled immediately. 18 voted yes, 1 voted no out of the 19 republicans.

They really did just end all republican career in WI for a looonnggg looooooooong time. At the end of this, if liberals win by saving the rights and ousting these conservative pieces of shit, the bright side will be part of the country will be a much better place.

This is as good as a victory to the Democrats. They can return to the state so that the right wing whackos can stop whining about "showing up to work" (what do you think they were doing in Illinois, vacationing?) and tell all their constituents that they did everything they possibly could to represent their interests and just got bulldozer'd by the supermajority.

I will be interested in seeing if/when the voters forget when it comes time to actually do something.

That will be just as fascinating as what has transpired over the past month or so.
