Anyway its generally understood that Prosser will rule in support of the bill and Kloppenberg will rule against it.

It's also my understanding that even if Kloppenburg had to recuse, that would mean the court would split 3-3 causing a technical defeat to Walker & the WI-GOP.

The recall threshold is about 7500 votes, so Prosser's campaign will most likely file for a recall today.

Was it expected to be so close given this last month's events? Or is the partisanship of that post not as contentious? I guess I'm only seeing the Democrat activity in Wisconsin but it seemed from an outside perspective that Dems would have a massive advantage in any election following March.

Prosser was expected to crush Kloppenberg (as can be expected of an incumbent in a non-partisan election) but yeah given the enthusiasm of the moderates and liberals given Walker's out-of-the-blue assault on unions, as the election approached (and a record amount of 3rd party spending on both sides - although pro-Prosser outspent pro-Kloppenberg about 3:2) yeah it became hyper-partisan.
