If the supreme court considers the case on the merit of the union busting bill, then yes the justice system is broken in Wisconsin.

Which is exactly what they should do. If they're going to pass something that the majority of voters actually do not want, they should not be allowed to push it in through a backdoor. Let them march with it through the front door, parade it around and tell everyone that it is the Right Thing To Do.
Hmmm...it's possible the republicans ...can't appeal?
It's likely they'll just insert this bill into the bi-annual budget which needs to be passed by July 1st if they don't/can't appeal. But it may not even make it that far; Republicans may not be able to appeal to higher courts in this instance. That's because, as a Democratic state Senate aide explained, Republicans asserted legislative immunity so they would not be party to the case when it was initially considered. Democrats, instead, took up the defense, so as to allow a legal challenge to come forward.
So without a member of the defense interested in an appeal (the Democrats certainly won't petition for one), it's not entirely clear how the case moves forward.
Asked my would-be (if I still lived in Madison) representative about this, who I went to high school with. Her response on facebook:
Kelda Helen Roys - Andrew, it's not true. There are SOME legislative procedures and meetings that are exempt from the open meetings laws (which are generally applicable statutes for governmental bodies including the legislature). The type of meeting convened, however, was NOT among the specific exclusions - therefore, the regular statute applies, requiring 24-hour notice.
I wonder if all of these flag waving, Constitution clutching Republicans understand the irony of how much like the British we rebelled against they have become.
There are two types of republicans, so i will give you two answers.
They don't care.
They don't believe they're doing anything wrong, because they live in an ideological bubble.
indeed
glad to hear things are going the right way, but this is far from over. it'll never be over, really - if the GOP loses this fight, there are plenty of others. look at Michigan (which we should just donate to Canada anyway, just like we should give Texas back to Mexico).
Did you call?

Along with her counterpart whom I'd still like to bang.
New strategy. In order to make Democrats waste money and get beat up in the process, Republicans are trying to run fake Democrats against the recall challengers, forcing them to have a primary election before the recall election.

Is that even legal? Can't the democrat party just like disown them, and make them run as independent or something?
My ignorance on the subject makes me a sad panda.
No you can't oust someone from running for your party, lol but last I saw the strategy both wasn't working and was already spreading in the news so hopefully it will not. Unless they're absolutely positive they're going to lose, it seems like a bad idea to force the party with the momentum on their side to campaign harder.
Not the same article, but a similar article was on Reddit a couple of days ago.

Numerous articles were brought up of the Dems doing the same thing...

Supreme Court just unanimously ruled that the open meetings law was not violated.
