2.2 million people voted in the election where Walker became governor.

Over 1 million have signed the petition for his recall. They needed 545,000 - as well as recalling 4 state senators elected at the same time.

This is gonna be a crazy recall election.

I'm so glad people didn't forget about this... so often lately if anything takes more than 6 months, it just goes off the radar and the public loses interest. I can only hope the people working against SOPA/PIPA and other bills like it are so persistent. I'm still registered to vote in Michigan (need to sign up for absentee ballot again this year... wish they could just automatically send me stuff every year but noooo, voter fraud is rampant yo >.> ), I can keep up with most of the national news but I don't have as much access to state/local issues as I should.

MILWAUKEE — A bare majority of Wisconsin voters approve of the job Republican Gov. Scott Walker is doing, according to the first poll since his organizers of a recall effort turned in a million signatures aimed at forcing a vote and ousting him from office.

Walker, who drew ire over his conservative agenda during his first year in office, also showed a slight lead or a lead when compared to four potential Democratic opponents, according to the Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday.

A testament to the need of democrats putting up well qualified candidates if there ever was one.

The recall election will happen, but the news is breaking down on how it will turn out.
If it's being done the same way California did it with Gray Davis, the ballot will have

1) Do you wish to recall: yes/no
2) Please vote for a candidate for the case of 1 passing: candidates

Just because the recall election happens, does not guarantee he'll be pulled from office.

Well, today's the day. Walker (the current Republican governor) has generally been leading in the recall election polling by 3-5 points, roughly what he beat Barrett (the former Democratic Milwaukee Mayor) in the first election. Turnout is expected to be between 60-65%, much greater than the first election in 2010.

By tonight, we'll know if Wisconsin is a lost cause. We already have the only Governor in the nation with a criminal defense fund, let's see if we vote to keep him.
