So I am doing a group project where we have to take a "cultural plunge" and experience another culture that we know little about. Teammates want to go to a Jewish temple, so I was like "alright", but I don't know the difference between these two services:

8:30 a.m. Torah Study Leader: Rabbi Berk
10:00 a.m. Shabbat Lay Led Service


Which one are we supposed to go to?

Also any advice since we not just have to watch the service but talk to people there and ask them about Jewish life, anything we should say or do to not insult anyone there?

Through a google search. The only memory I have of synogogue was two years ago for my brother's bar mitzvah, which was after the normal services. Guys read in Hebrew for a while from the Old Testament, then there's a service in English not unlike a church service. The one I went to was very informal, and there were people openly challenging the rabbi and walking around. If they take out the Torah that's a big to-do as well.

Also if your group has men you won't be able to sit with them.
