the easiest way to deal with unrequited love is to actually tell the person how you feel. Most of the times when I've crushed over someone like that in the past, it's only festered in my brain because I never told the other person, and I think a lot of times people purposely don't ask because they're afraid of the answer... which makes the problem worse.
If you really want to move on you need to just rip off the band-aid and talk to him. Either he's been harboring the same white-hot manly fire for you this whole time, or you have to feel momentary pain but you'll be able to move on.
I agree with Atreides, deep down you are probably thinking that right now there is the possibility, no matter how small, he will drop everything for you. Once you talk to him that possibility disappears forever. It's like Schrodinger's relationship, and even though it makes no sense we all do it.
Calling him sometime soon and dealing with it is my best bet then?....
I can already tell you, if you insist on there being a chance and pursue him, but he doesn't quite follow you, you're going to become very resentful and hostile towards him. I know this has happened to me before.
It really sucks, but that's just how things work right now. More than half the guys the guys who hit on you have girlfriends or they never go past the first step. C'est la vie.
My offer stands to grab a drink if you're in my area. Went through similar issues, if you remember.
Stop putting the pooper on a pedestal.
Spoken in the words of Garth Algar to Stacy, "Get over it, go out with somebody else."
This is called lust. Don't get it confused.Long story short; love at first sight pretty much.
Went through this about 2 years ago with a year. Ended up fucking with my brain hardcore, even dove into another girl only to get my mind off her. That was an expensive, retarded decision that made it worse. Decided to say fuck it all to both chicks and lived about 6 months for myself. Focused on something else (work), kept my distance, spent all my extra money on myself and felt x10 better at the end of the run when I finally stumbled upon my current gf who will soon be my fiancée.
how does one fall in love at 1st site?
fucking ridiculous

I was laughing at the OP, then I realized that the element of homosexuality in a heartbreak story makes it inherently comical to me, all by itself. Well, in this case, that and the foppishness (UNMANLINESS) of the OP.
