I've only been in a few relationships.......one girl we broke it off mutually. Another she broke up with me. The next I broke up with the girl, but only after a 4 year ordeal.

My current situation I've been dating the girl for a little over 2 months and I'm just still not feeling it. I tried breaking up with her once already and decided that I hadn't given her enough of a chance to change. I'm glad I brought it up and stuck around, because she has changed quite a bit for the better, and things have been a lot better, but things just aren't up to par for what I want right now. She super hot, but she's just a bit odd. I'm probably weirder than her, and I just don't feel like I'm up for a relationship (still kinda fucked up from the last one, kinda just wanna figure my shit out). If it were the right girl, I think it'd be fine, but my current girl is just a little too off-kilter for where I'm at right now.

Anyways. I obviously am gonna break the news to this girl one way or another. But since I have this wonderful wealth of knowledge that is bluegartr, how have you guys broken up with people? Cold turkey? Still stay friends? Is there anyone who's had a good breaking-up experience?

Got better as in....she's extremely picky, particular, makes me feel bad. She was constantly telling me I had bad breath, I didn't kiss right, I didn't dress correctly, I didn't suck her nipples the right way, I should clip my fingernails differently, etc. And I don't have bad breath, I kiss fine (as far as everyone except her is concerned), and sex is great (with everyone except her). As far as cosmetics, she's just super neurotic....I'm not the type of guy to wait until my fingernails are yellow and gross, I shower every morning, I smell fine, I take care of myself, but as far as she's concerned, it's not enough. It made me feel bad, and also just made me super unattracted to her.

Not hung up on the last girl, more hurt. Last girl was a total bitch to me, fucked me up, slept around with close friends of mine, all while maintaining her innocence. After a while of not talking and trying to be friends, i find out that she slept around with even more of my friends. I took trips with her around the country during all of this shit. She's a total skank, a shitty person, and she really fucked me up both in the relationship, and after. She affected my life negatively in a lot of ways (friends I've had, things I've done, jobs I've had, etc....) I'm still finding out shit from close friends of mine that she did.

Sounds like she knows what she wants and is trying to see how far she can go to form you into her "perfect" man. Either you roll with it, or push back and see what her response is. In (most) relationships both parties will change themselves (slightly/moderately) in order to make it work. It seems she has cut back on her requests of you, but it is entirely up to you where you go from here.

protip; always carry gum or mints or something, there's no reason not to pop something if your girl wants to make out.

For realz, you're you, and if she isn't happy with that she should have broken it off. Here's the thing, and the reason why has already been stated (Minnions called that shit like a boss). Another reason could be that she's the one who has hang ups/reservations about herself, and is manifesting them on you instead of on herself. Break it off man, super hot don't mean shit when your 800 year's old and wondering who's gonna clean your piss bag up. If your still hung up on old girl, take some time away from serious girlfriends for awhile, work on you and see what comes around when your happy with who you are/or are going to be.

I got married to a bitch after we were dating for maybe a year and a half. Guess how long that marriage lasted? If you said 3 months you win! If you also said that she gave away super bowl tickets during the month we were still living together even after i had offered to pay all expenses to get to miami, you win the bonus round. I thought i would take time away from the serious shit, and just live, and my current wife came along and i almost fucked it up because i had reservations about getting into something so soon after (met her 3 months after ex left me) the marriage.

Funnie thing, she stuck by me, through my bullshit, for the past 4 years now, and we've been married for almost 2 years now. When it happens you'll know, and it sounds like you already know how this one is gonna turn out. Just be honest with this new chick, and she'll probably wise up and realize she lost a good thing. or she won't. either way at that point it won't be your problem

In my experience it really is best to just be straight up and honest with her about it. Tell her basically exactly what you wrote here, toss in some empathy and you're good. This way you won't feel bad later about making up some bullshit that hurts her. Better to hurt with the truth than a lie.
