Socialism (at least, my version of it) supports a large, centralized government wherein the State acts as a tenant to the people. Citizens are taxed highly, but social programs are fully funded so expenses remain low. There's less (or ideally, no) competition amongst individuals because there is mutual support via the social programs into which everyone pays.

I support corporations and profits, I just think they should take orders from government rather than try to run it.
    I really dislike lobbyists

I thought socialism meant that the state owns all capital producing infrastructure in a bid to "democratize" labour and turn it into a publically held good.

I think that although that's ideal for the people to own the means of production, it isn't something that is viable outside of theory and especially in the United States. I don't exactly follow the paradigm to the letter.

Okay, then could you tell me everything that the theory entails?

Probably not, since I'm at work and would have to recover my notes from college, provided they still exist. Is there anything specific that interests you?

I don't know. I'd just like a brief run down on the theory. For example, perhaps authors, concepts, perception of human nature, history, society in general, and a vision where it all leads. Etc

Kuya what you need to understand is that a good ideology is the currency of political expediency, not the process of rational thought or well founded ideas. They don't need to have reasons, logical basis, goals, vision, or even a grounding in logic. As long as you can come up with simple, pithy slogans and obfuscate any naggling complexity of the real world behind a smokescreen of meaningless jargoned rhetoric, you can never ever be wrong. For example, you are always wrong unless you agree with me. Why? Because capitalism. Class. Rich people. Exploitation.

Alternatively, you are always wrong unless you agree with me. Why? Invisible hand of the market. Supply and demand. Liberty. Enterprise.

Alternatively, you are always wrong unless you agree with me. Why? Because patriarchy. Your ideas, which are wrong, are wrong because they're socially constructed.

It feels good to always be right. You should try it. Stop being bothered with this "logic" nonsense.

No you're wrong. Because you have failed to deconstruct the latent assumptions inherent in the reconstructionalist Faraday-school rhetoric of signs. Which, coincidentally, is why white people would not be allowed to breed in a just world.

This is a point that can't be driven home enough.
    It has very wide applications.

You're operating under the post-infantalstruction doctrine, which absurdly insists that all communication in a crossmodal environment, consisting of multifaceted coummincators in a non-confined narrative space, be devoid of circumlocution for no better reason than to cater to the foibles of lesser minds.

Why not just let us smart people who understand completely and without flaw how the world works take care of everything and you go back to watching American Idol, you slackjawed patriarchal plebeian.
