Don't be a fucking retard, finish your degree. Then decide what you want to do afterwards. You're a senior in college - not finishing now would be indescribably stupid.

lol, thanks guys, one thing I didn't mention:
The hilarous shit that happens, that you tell over and over again with the people who experience it.
Also, and not getting sappy, but i found BG during my 3rd tour, right when the salvage ban's happened, I hadn't really played in 4-5 months since I was deployed/training, and I thought about getting back into FFXI, and I was reading alla, and ffxiah, and I saw a refrence to BG and all the people flipping shit over the situations. I started reading and have never turned back, It was an escape when we had bad days, and It still makes me as happy as actually playing fucking 11. I love the fact that there's good people (and dick heads too) that frequent this site the same way I do, I gave something like 60$ when the donation drive came through and I would have gave more, if I hadn't been getting ready to deploy (I was short on cash.)
OP: In that video your looking at An Aerial Gunner. They're SOCOM (special operations command) and they have two main bases, Hurlburt field, FL and ...fuck nobody here can remember the other base, but it's out west (new mexico, nevada, area) If your an officer your actually pulling the trigger, however, the enlisted guys are doing the tracking/targeting/loading/unloading. In that same AFSC (airforce specialty code, airforce equivalent of MOS) Aerial gunners can also be door gunners on pave hawkes (AH-64 or 62 i can't remember) Their basically running CCT, Seals, Para rescue, ODA(other departmental agencies), delta to the drop zone, and picking them up, so their basically laying down cover and supporting them from the bird when it get's low on the deck.
Cool job no doubt, but they only have like 100 positons air force wide. It's hard to cross train into it, and you can't come into it directly, you have to be in awhile, and every year there's a "cross train" window that opens and you can apply.
Whos paying for your tuition?
If it's anyone but yourself, it's a big fuck you to them if youre not going to finish.
If youre paying, then do what you want, but yeah, dumb move to drop out when youre close to finishing.
Seno, you fucking idiot. Finish a degree, then decide from there. Also, I am of the personal opinion that you'd get chewed up and spit out in the armed forces.
Fuck the haters, join now and see the world, see some action. College isn't going anywhere, and if you get shot you'll pull tons of sympathy pussy.
Good read shep, it brought a tear to my eye.
Seriously though, finish your degree, after all that, come in as an officer, don't lose your perspective, stay level with your enlisted guys, you'll be able to tell the shit heads from the guys who will get YOUR back, so that you can cover them from the top.
But yeah, finish your degree, come in enlisted for 2-3 years, then go officer, you'll get both sides and be a better person for it. going enlisted you can use your GI bill for your college, then you can go officer, and get the best of both worlds.
That's some impressive use of imagery. He lost his entire left arm at 90 percent of his vision, and his face looks like someone set it on fire and put it out with a wet chain.
Can you get your degree and then have the military pay your students loans off? Or you need to Military -> School for them to pay.
If he joins now, he can still finish his degree (for free) while in the military, through the TA program. This has nothing to do with either GI bill, and is actually free of any catches, provided you don't fail the classes. Depending on where you are stationed, however, you may not have the best classes to choose from. I would only join as an officer if you are really planning to make a career out of the military. From the sound of things, you just want a change and get to experience the world, you can do this in an enlistment just fine, and if you plan on sticking with it, move to officer from there. This will earn you a lot of respect from the enlisted men you would be leading in the future. I'm currently an enlisted Marine, been in for 4 years now, on a 5 year contract. My primary job is a diesel generator mechanic, but I also work with diesel air conditioners for Aircraft, turbine engines, hydraulic systems, liquid oxygen and nitrogen, and a shitload of other stuff. If you have any specific questions and want serious answers PM, one of my best friends where I'm stationed is a recruiter, I can hook you up with a lot of info about joining.
Hey, if you go to Iraq you might end up raping some kids. That's your goal in life, imirite?
The TA program has some major criteria; a lot of people that used to qualify no longer do. (hi2u PRT failures)
As far as going enlisted THEN officer, sure, your guys will respect you more for it... but if you were a jackass blue shirt, then you'll be a jackass officer and they'll shit on you for it and make your life hell.
I don't think I know anyone personally that has been denied TA, but I also don't know any PFT failures. If a Marine fails a PFT he'd gonna a lot more shit on his plate than a TA rejection anyways.
edit: Half the officers in the US military are worthless anyways. I'm sure Seno could wear his butterbars proud.
I want seno to join and then america to go to war with japan so badly
Finish your degree. Join the Air Force as an officer. Enjoy life.
