    Disappearing Space

For the past few weeks, I have noticed the amount of available space on my SSD constantly decreasing and am unsure why.

I just installed the latest Windows 7 Service Pack and before the update, i had 7.3 GB of space free
Windows said i was only downloading a file about 83mb in size and after the update, i only had 5.38 GB free, am unsure of what to do

The SSD is only 40 GB in size cause I got it for the purpose of a boot drive but I am unsure how space literally disappears from the SSD as I leave the computer on

SP1 uncompressed for x64 is near 2.0gb. You didn't list OS type or SSD model so we're limited on information there.

    Open a command prompt and run : dism /online /cleanup-image /spsuperseded

Will delete SP1 backup installation files (about 3 GB), did it this morning

Not with updates, only with service pack installations.
