Didn't Jane Lynch quit for Glee too, and the ratings dropped lower or something? I realize yeah they could have brought more people in, but I imagine the cast changing and declining ratings contributed somewhat to the decision.
Jane Lynch left season 1, they replaced her and the show didn't even slow down a beat. It got funnier if anything b/c it was new weird personalities.
edit: I also cannot believe that starring as like ~3rd male lead (and that's being generous) on network pays better than starring on cable. Also smaller production schedule from Party Down leaves more time to work on movies and shit lol, seems like a shit career move.
pilot was good, will be watching this.
So far, I like the show. I'll admit I really don't know a lot about the Camelot story, or how true it is holding up to it, but it's pretty enjoyable thus far. I'll definitely be watching this weekly and recommending it to friends who enjoy this kind of thing.
Just watched the second (first non-pilot) episode.
Spoiler: show
All in all, going to keep watching for now.
Fucking love this show. The fact that theres changes to the original story doesn't bother me much because its been changed so much before. People forget this has been told and retold for centuries.
The real reason I love this show is Eva green and Claire Forlani.
Eva Green has got to have the sexiest voice on the planet. I can probably rub one out if she ever read an Audio book about the Holocaust.
Not only that, have you read her wiki page?
Personal life
Green considers herself nerdy:[11] "When people first meet me, they find me very cold. I keep myself at a distance, and I think that's why I'm so drawn to [acting]. It allows me to wear a mask."[12] She moved to Primrose Hill, London in mid-2005.[5] She prefers the "village-like" atmosphere of the London neighbourhood: "I feel more centred when I'm [there]."[10] She lives alone, jokingly referring to her border terrier, Griffin, as her "husband".[11] She is an atheist, and was not raised to follow any religion.[35]
She dated New Zealand actor Marton Csokas after meeting him on the set of Kingdom of Heaven, but the couple announced their split in 2009.[36]
She has no particular fitness regime, because, "I'm French and I'm lazy, which means I smoke and I don't exercise",[37] though she does run and she practices pilates. Green finds dieting too stressful.[31] She thinks of herself as an international actress:[14] she can speak both her native French and English fluently,[10] and is also learning Japanese[38] as well as perfecting an American accent.[14]
Green's favourite film is Cries and Whispers, and she is a fan of directors François Truffaut,[39] Ingmar Bergman,[11] Tim Burton,[39] Lars von Trier,[11] David Lynch,[40] and David Fincher.[40] She admires the actresses Lauren Bacall,[11] Marlene Dietrich,[11] Bette Davis,[11] Jeanne Moreau,[7] Cate Blanchett,[7] Juliette Binoche,[7] and Helena Bonham Carter.[7] She credits Blanchett and Kirsten Dunst as her fashion influences, describing her own taste as, "bright pink lipstick, hot pink or geisha colors. Make up is allowed to be a bit weird, I feel."[31] Her favourite artists are Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele,[2] and she is a keen museum visitor;[41] she particularly likes Chinese and Indian architecture, and framed displays of butterflies and other insects.[36] Green enjoys music, listening to film soundtracks and classical music when preparing for roles,[42] and she plays the piano.[43]![]()
Good so far, performances seemed a bit flat in the first episode, but picked up by the end.
Hereby reaffirming my endless and fiery love for Eva Green, for whom I am willing to die and resurrect as one of her zombie minions, should she command it.
Spoiler: show
You're more than likely right as far as foreshadowing goes. Leontes and his Bieberhair will probably die a gut-wrentchingly noble death.
Spoiler: show
Anyone else watch the ending of the 2nd episode and think they couldn't care less about what happens with the show as long as Eva Green does what she did for every episode?
Spoiler: show
i'm enjoying the story so far.
eva is hot.
can't wait to see merlin flex.
sword-in-the-stone at the lake? i thought the chick was gonna pop up and safe arthur from drowning.
not sure what they're doing with guinevere, but ok for now.
Enjoyed this weeks episode. I'm kind of looking forward to when Merlin does some boss type shit, but who knows how long that will be. It seems like magic has a hefty price to it, though I have no idea what it is.
I'm betting something stupid like the wine sack with blood is found. Some shit like that always happens.
I'm enjoying the show so far but I hope it picks up soon, it's understandable for 1st season to establish the characters and stuff though.
I'm really curious where this whole magic thing is heading, Merlin is very mysterious with this whole thing but they sure leave you wondering what this is like when the old queen says that he hasnt aged a day since he took Arthur from her. Merlin is really intense also, I like the cast so far.
It's okay so far but I'm really bored with the forbidden love angle of the legend. I wish the writers had really separated this project from the rest by going in a different direction with the love storyline. I've read a ton of Arthurian legend over the years and my favorites always went a different direction than what is normally shown.
twisted story. . twisted. oh that Merlin
Finally some twists. About damn time.
Wow amazing twist to the original legend bravo
