What is happening here? When I, and most of the world, trip over our own feet, we don't propel ourselves into the air and throw our head back. It was clearly planned. And look how his right foot wraps all the way around his calf to trip himself up. That's not accident. He's a professional soccer player. I can understand his feet clicking or maybe even his ankles. But his fucking right shin around his left calf. Get real.

I believe the coach eventually resigned.

First of all, agreed that the kid should have gotten up immediately, wiped off the blood and saved his crying for his dorm room.



Playing devil's advocate, in the GMA interview, the coach would not apologize initially and accept even a little bit of the responsibility for hurting the kid. He was finally pressed into apologizing after several repeated requests by the interviewer but the apology was pretty weak.

I usually don't demand apologies from anyone. I feel like apologies should be volunteered without prompting. However, it pisses me the hell off when someone does apologize and it's pretty weak and insincere.

I might have dug my heels in myself if I felt the coach was trying to twist the situation around and make it look like he did nothing wrong. I think this whole situation would have been squashed pretty easily but both parties were stubborn which blew the incident out of proportion.

It also doesn't help that this video was spread on the internet and the nancies on the net helped escalate it.

So you guys are ignoring the player in red having his knee contact the back of the heel of the blue players right foot? After the contact is made you can even see the red guys leg that made contact touch the ground directly beneath/slightly behind center mass rather than out in front of him like how you want when you run and how every other one of his strides lands (strange if no contact was made). The contact messed up his stride. He also glances over to the player, maybe that was reacting to the guy falling but it's awfully fast, but I'd say he felt contact and looked to see what it was.

Both players don't even have the ball either so why would you dive when the ref probably wouldn't even be looking at you. If the guy did dive then he somehow sensed the perfect time to have his legs contact each other because it's right after it appears the guys knee hits it.

And I played soccer for 14 years and have had my heel clipped and clipped others accidentally plenty of times so it's not rare at all.
