what is end game?

Ok I don't mean that in the philosophical sense I'm asking as practically as possible... what the hell is end game these days?

Basically last few years my rl has been so hectic I've been only able to play a few days a week if that, and never during the prime NA activity hours, limiting my gameplay to exping, meriting, quests, farming, etc. I should be able to start playing much more again, and I have no idea what's been going on. My end game mindset is still stuck in mid- to early ToAU. I know there's empyrean armor and weapons but is that it? Is all endgame these days Abyssea or is there other stuff to be done?

Endgame is Grellow proccing one set of monsters in Abyssea, Blue proccing another set, and grinding out Empyreans.

End game is sitting in port jeuno watching /sh spam until you see something you need, joining a shitty pick up group then bitching when said pick up group completely fails at their boxed to 90 jobs.

Endgame is people still doing Salvage, Einherjar and Limbus, hoping against hope that Synergy upgrades to Rare/Ex gear will make the useless gear they're acquiring still relevant.
