Though bear in mind that the dungeons get additional mechanics/bosses added in and repackaged as Expert level when you hit 50, so you're not missing much if you skip them along the way. If you do want to do dungeons while you level, your best bet is to just queue up and quest in the meanwhile.

I've been playing for a couple months now and I've thoroughly enjoyed the time spent. Once you hit 50 you really see how the game opens up and how much you'll have to do to max out your char. This is doubled if you like to pvp. One thing I'll say to do for sure is the main storyline quest. If you finish it you'll get gear that will make you raid ready when you hit 50 and you won't have to spam normal dungeons with pugs for gear.

Also don't spend any planarite on anything until you hit 50.

The one thing the game does seem to suffer from is the community outlook on its own future. People are spooked about the game dying with TERA SWTOR and GW2 even though I see people everywhere on a low pop shard even during weird hours.

Its a shell as it is. Trion capitalized on a mmo lull and had so much, but then tossed it away with churning out and tweeking stuff without testing it first. People don't want the premier raid broken for the first two months or forced to respec their roles once a week.

Is why I quit initially, at one point after saying they were happy with state of warrior, they nerfed it every week for 8 weeks almost, shit was retarded.

Ironically, even after the constant warrior nerfs, they were still the top dogs until mages got a buff. Allowing them to work off of a broken mechanic was silly, so they should have known better than to say they were ok.

I just wish IS gear wasn't basically two tiers behind HK stuff. Getting Keeper and Farclan rep has been bad enough doing dailies and the occasional CR or Onslaught/EI rift/invasion. I can understand Trion wanting to give people incentive to raid, but not everyone can or wants to. As is, it's a lot of fucking stones for a full set after you get past the rep requirements. I get anywhere between 25-50 a day depending on my luck with zone events and motivation to spam IA. Still need to finish out my tank set while plaques/marks have been going toward DPS with a current mix with warrior's set.

I don't think they had a clue how abilities were coded initially. Warrior had abilities written in buffing other moves it had no business buffing. Or their thought process is totally absent, like when they gutted pyro/mage dmg, then nerfed red ball after they still weren't happy, and simply left it.

There was a period late april through jun or so where every three days clerics would log in, find their souls reset or abilities completely disabled and would spend an hour or more having to screw with their setup again.

Was going to resub; PTS tested changes and blew up over horrible they were, next day they dropped in a new set of changes, still blew up after 30 mins of testing wfs with the devs actually present, and then announced 1.7 patch update for the morning. Forbid anything interrupt wedding plans though. Either they have no one standing around with common sense, or they hired Tanaka and gave him full rein.

You could just do some raids. On the high pop pvp servers people pug the 10 man often, and the higher guilds lets pugs in for their 20 man runs with their alts. Both very casual, no attendance requirement, just have to talk to them ahead of time. Were you defiant? Squab Squad on Briarcliff is a laid back raiding guild, tell them Infamous sent yah.

Guardian. On Faeblight at the moment, which is also high pop, but I don't see PUG advertising too often. Or if I do, nobody wants a warrior, especially one that doesn't know the fights... and I kinda refuse to say I do without actually doing them. Anyway, I believe I have the stats to DD or tank in T1s, just my schedule can be unreliable since one day I may be able to play from 6am-5pm, the next from 6pm-4am.

Wound up finishing the Earth T2 PA the other day and decided to focus on the PvP one just because I figure warriors need all the PvP help they can get. Still can't quite decide what I'd do after, though. Fire would offer more sword DPS, as those are the weapon types I use all around for now, but dunno. I've been rather happy with the 44 RB/12 Pally/10 Reaver build for soloing/EI/IA, but it's not dungeon/raid friendly since trying it once had me yoinking hate from the tank between sweeping strikes and blood fever. I do a Paragon/Champ/RB build instead, but I feel like its AoE DPS could be better.

As a Cleric tank, this one was particularly fun for me. "Oh yay new taunt that will cause mobs to run to me, useful!" [ability is disabled because it causes perma-rooted mobs to unroot; eventually, it's supposedly fixed] "Yay I can finally use my new taunt!" [taunt still had other side effects, ability is disabled again]
The other fun one was our magic reduction talent being tied to Precept of Refuge for a while. Super useful for Lord Greenscale for air phases!

Byriel Guardians usually have 1-2 pug ros and gsb runs a week on top of your regular pickup ten mans.

As for inscribed the absolute best way to farm inscribed besides hitting invasions is doing IA's with 10+ people. If you have a full 20, you can pull 2-3 PA levels + 15-20 inscribed per hour if not more if RNG cooperates. And if a zone event hits during it, you typically only have to close a rift or kill a couple invasions to get full credit.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I try to do now. Sadly, this time of day it's not uncommon for me to queue IA and wind up alone. I don't think the actual party side affects IS drop rate, just how quickly an objective may be completed if they're all on the ball, thus more chances. EXP doesn't compete, though.

What happened to pvp souls? Pvp seems like rogue or gtfo, at least to my 25 cleric anyway. Shit sucks.

PVP souls were done away with in favor of there being a PVP section in the Planar Attunement system (Rift's form of alternate advancement).

I wouldn't expect great PVP at lower levels -- or any levels really, Rift's PVP is kinda sucky -- because Trion introduced level locking which means people are twinking in lower brackets.
