Try Aleve instead of Advil. Heating pad might also help.

Aspirin has also shown to cause people to bleed out because those 'medical benefits' amount to absolutely nothing unless you are at risk for thrombosis, which is really the only reason you would take it over very long periods of time.

I know this because I just finished transfusing somebody last week who had been taking aspirin his whole life, which put him at risk for dying in surgery because he had used it for so long.

There are benefits to drinking, but you don't drink wine to relieve a headache, do you?

Taking aspirin for a few days because of acute pain, wont put her at risk for bleeding out.

Thank you Kuronosan for showing us why people shouldn't take advice from random people on the internet.

Slight hi-jack but can anyone recommend some kind of stretch or something for a fractured t6 t7 in my spine? I broke my back about 5 weeks from seizures cause of anti rejection meds and it's just not getting better pain wise. I'm on 2-4mgs of Hydromorphon every 3 hours, 3 times daily Hydromorphoncotin, Ibuprofen, and Tylenol plain. Shit still hurts like a mother fucker D:

I don't have to be her physician to know that taking aspirin for a few days, wont kill her. What kind of nonsense are your professors teaching you?

I haven't taken any sort of aspirin since before I was pregnant with my first son. Probably longer. Aspirin + baby = bad. Then I nursed, then I was pregnant again, then I nursed again, and after that I'd just been in the habit of buying other types of pain meds entirely.

I know quite enough about medicine to know that if you don't know the origin of the back pain, or the patient's complete history, aspirin is not the first medicine you want to prescribe for the reasons I outlined before.

Don't assume that because I post on the internet and because clobetasol is a physician means I don't know anything about medicine and its effects on the body.

Don't assume because they say in a study that aspirin 'lowers heart attack risk' means you should take it like it's candy. Aspirin is a salicylate, which prevents proper platelet function. If she has issues clotting, is on certain medications, has done anything particular, or the problem is not related to muscle function, taking a salicylate could cause her to bleed out. It could also do nothing. This is usually why the proper medication to take in a situation like this would be Naproxen or Ibuprofen, both of which, if the patient has no prior history of allergies to either NSAID, are perfectly acceptable alternatives and will provide better relief of the symptoms, which without knowing anything else are probably due to some form of inflammation.

Where did I say anything about taking it like candy? Oh wait, nowhere. I didn't even recommend taking aspirin (or any other medication) at all--I just pointed out that long-term medical studies done on the drug have come back with positive results, which kind of submarines your whole "aspirin is the bads" argument.

But I must commend you, impressive job decimating that straw man.
