I don't understand what makes them think that servers with 1500~ players even need to be merged, imo that'd be the perfect server population and even at that size you'll still end up competing and wasting time on NMs. Thankfully Asura's not being merged this time around, we have 2k+ around the clock (3k at peaks) and that's too much most of the time.

Soo.. we kinda heard about unicorn a bit, what about Fenrir? I mean like the top ls of the server, who to look out for, who to not piss off =P or anything that could be helpful. Wanna get to know about the house im moving into.. maybe even links to their websites (i like researching stuff like that idk..)
Any help is appreciated ^^

Siren is very JP dominated, Gukumatz/Amun/etc are only really overcamped during JP hours and in NA time there's been many occasions where nobody is killing them.

I want to quit now, the only reason I fucking play is because there's only like 1200ish people on during NA time, and it's the only time I can get anything fucking done, cause when it's JP time there's 2500~3000 people fucking online crowding everything, now it's going to be crowded 24/7, fuck that fucking shit, fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

maybe if enough people bitch and spam their twitter they might reconsider? idk, this is fucking retarded. Not fucking looking forward to 5000+ people online, jp time was fucking bad enough as it fucking was.

Most linkshells are 8~12 active people where most have been playing together for years now. There are a small handful of these (maybe around.. 6? if I had to guess) and that's basically the concentration of every competent NA on the server. I don't really keep track of linkshells anymore, so my guess might be off by a bit. There are exceptions, at least one of the smaller linkshells still have people who cry bot because they don't understand trade spam macro syntax. You can go browse FFXIAH for emperyeans on Fenrir and you should be able to pick out the linkshells if you are so inclined.

The larger linkshells/pickups do fun things such as taking an hour to kill Melo Melo, wipe to Sobek, failing to kill Rani with several brews then crying when I take it on full deaggro after wipe, fail to dispel spikes on Amarok and have it regen hp with over 10 people hitting it and dying, etc. That group has an MVP though who finally listened to my pleas to cast dispel, then they managed to kill it without hitting any procs.

Abyssea is packed as fuck on the weekends, and there is a very active JP population that forgets to sleep very often including numerous NIN/WHM and NIN/DNC who just love to spend forever soloing key NM and failing to proc red because their sj is retarded. This situation probably similar to most other servers in that regard.

I am willing to work and shuffle objectives in a zone (assuming you haven't previously griefed me, in which case I will very much enjoy popping things in your face and killing it slow) because there is little point to watching someone else kill a mob when I could be killing something else that I need as well. Exception being key NMs for emperyeans. I only do that with linkshell twice a week (mon & thurs currently) in the afternoon and so far it hasn't been too much of a problem; if there was a group there prior they seem to leave fairly quickly.
