Maybe. I know I've gotten different ones daily, at least. Like in Icewatch in the middle city area, you can be asked to go to 1 of at least 4 altars or whatever to use an item and then kill whatever. Icewatch's also further vary at the Chancel based on what mobs are up east of the hub. Technically, if they changed during the day, you could do an extra 3 quests, too. I just couldn't hammer down that condition, be it time or rift events happening in the zone.
Yeah, they are random each day, but everyone gets the same ones. Also, every time the servers are reset, it randomizes the quests again. Those are the times you can get extra quests. If you pick up the quest before the server goes down, and then it picks different quests when it comes back up, you get to do both. This is why I always log in and accept all my daily quests before I go to work each morning. :D
Server is fucking dead. 3 days in a row that it takes me more than an hour to find a healer for the daily tier 1, and that I absolutely cannot find any healer that wants to do one other than the daily. Not even tier2s when we have a whole group overgeared for it. Now not only do the freaking dungeons take 2 hours to complete because of the amount of trash (except some, but we need gear dropping from other places too), but you need to plan an hour ahead if you are going to try to find a single member (4man static group with no healer).
Healers don't like to pug. If i don't have a guild cleric on then i just assume i'm not doing dungeons that day. It's a shame but it's just the way it is. Don't even get me started on dps only clerics.
Its not dead, people just don't like to pug, based on shitty past experiences. All it takes is one slow-ass expert run to make the average person never want to pug again. I'd try to get in with a guild that's running a lot of instances and go from there, or make sure to make good friends with the few people that you get to pug with. A good name can work wonders, as I used to get lots of /tells from people asking if I wanted to help out in a run.
I don't blame people for being the way they are, especially in this type of fast-paced, almost-twitchy game. It runs a lot like WoW, and plenty of people had shitty experiences there, and didn't want to even bother having to deal with it again in a new format.
Also the fact that a shitty group can take forever to finish an expert, so people rather not do them than spend hours in them
I had a pug a few weeks ago take 6 fucking hours in expert IT. 6 FUCKING hours in the easiest expert dungeon. I only took it out of boredom and i'm not one to ditch a group or fake DC, so i suppose it's my own fault.
complaint: week long event of so much inactivity with nothing to do, then phase 2 only lasts a few hours and is too easy to miss
yeah I was running an instance and missed 99% of phase2. waiting for phase3 now. it's bugged and resetted twice so far lol
In all of my messages I specifically said we are used and geared for T2s, have vent and want to do a quick run. I know PUGs are crap, since I've given up on doing them, but if I someone advertising for a freakin guild run, I at least have the drive to ask their setup/strats and inspect them if i can find them in town. For the past 3 days I've seen 2-3 groups forming at the same time for various dungeons, and every time, the only one getting a healer is the daily run. After that, no healer in sight for the rest of the night. And I am in a guild running T2s daily, but there are always preferences and it's always the same people who go, even though I partied with every member of the guild and I'm #2 in both tanking and dps. Been organizing a static group on the side with a few close friends to run the T2s daily since the only other guild able to do T2s on my server is another 8man guild with the same dynamic as mine.
Complaint: Need more Guild Quest variations. Stuck on Level 5 with only 500 xp to go.
Also I agree with clerics. Its annoying to depend on Mages to go Cholo to off heal. But eh, I've actually did all T1 without a cleric initially.
Is it really this hard to find healers? Also how can a cleric or a mage not have a healer spec?
Last night we were doing Expert KB and we had:
War dps
war tank
mage cholo
mage necro
mage something (im not too keen on other callings really)
The necro had no chloro spec, made him respec and we couldnt do it
Started a new group and finished the 3 with 2 Chloro and a rogue. Shit was easy
I still see a ton of clerics, i just assumed that, with it being so easy to spec-up, people would have a spec for all sorts of situations including healing. What are these guys doing? Getting 4 different flavours of dps specs?
I don't think it's so much not having a spec, but not wanting to do it. Support roles have always been thankless jobs in MMOs and since I don't really know how equipment actually factors into cure potency for Rift, it's also possible there's an element of "Why bother?" if it's all you're stuck doing.
I'll break it down for you: the. average. person. hates. to. heal.
Its not big flashing white and gold numbers and its not making mobs explode into a flash of blood and confetti. That's why Chloro is such a great step in the right direction when it comes to healing in a MMORPG: your damage is your healing.
Lots of people I know simply rolled cleric because cleric gear drops like fucking candy, while mage drops for shit. The game is all about plate and chain, so yeah, its smart to roll a class that's going to get 65% of every boss drop, every time.

60% of the time, it drops, every time.
