Freeholme Molinar Greenscale Atrophinius Crucia Laethys and I've probably missed one or two.

Guardians are leaving this server so damn fast due to the world pvp zerg and the wargroup problem. It's no joke to say I doubt there are 100 50 Guardians on at any time. Sanctum is like a ghost town.

I definitely can relate to the Guardian ghost town, but luckily I've got servers like Sunrest and Seastone in my WF group. They are both very heavy PvP servers, so essentially all my WF's are people from those 2 servers and 1 or 2 from the other softy PvE servers.

My shards Guardian raid progression is so far behind the Defiant one as well. There just isn't enough good talent out there, and not much incentive for people to transfer over

Sanctum is about the only town that is active on my server. Most of the 1-30 hubs are almost completely empty aside from the NPCs. It's pretty sad because I like the game enough to play it but when there is seemingly no community, it feels like a lost cause.

Well, Sanctum is really the only "hub". When you're pre-50 all those other towns just serve as occasional quest hubs. I've recently been leveling my Warrior (lvl 42 right now) and with all the dungeon grinding I did, I only found myself doing 4 quests per region then moving on. Once I got to around level 37 or so, questing became a lot faster EXP (<3 Moonshade) so I frequented those areas more. I saw a lot of other people doing the same quests as me too.

Seems to be a lot of people leveling etc, Defiant is just the dominant faction by a long way on most servers (I believe? At least those I've heard of) so Guardian players tend to drop like flies either to reroll, quit, or move to a very Guardian-heavy server. It's sad; I love the game, but I question whether it has much of a tangible future at this rate.

I think all the leveling you're seeing is all the rogues rerolling warrior.

This is part of the reason I generally dislike games with hard factions. The best PvP experiences I've ever had have been in games where players are completely free to make their own guilds/alliances to serve as factions (sup L2). As a primarily PvE player, I've also never understood who decided it was good design to allow people to only play with roughly half of the other players.

    More specifically to Rift, my complaint is that they are so slow at allowing add-ons that most people leveling aren't running things like parsers. As much as scrubs would gripe about Recount in WoW, being able to see everyone's performance in a number of categories is a very powerful tool. There is a parser for Rift that allows you to overlay a meter onto your screen, but it's a pain in the balls to set up so it seems like very few people run it. Just makes running dungeons more frustrating because very few people notice that their HPS or DPS is fucking atrocious. I had a dungeon tonight on my 38Senticar where I was #1DPS and only 20HPS behind the healer. As should be no surprise, that run was slow as fuck with the DPS rogue and warrior claiming it couldn't be their fault because they do super awesome damage -_-;

I really despise the 2 faction system. I'd love to see the game open up with no real faction system. I'd love to see WoW do that too. Imagine being able to go into Stormwind or Org etc without any issues. This would allow grouping on a much larger scale. When you queue for pvp, you could just queue as "Red Team" or "Blue Team" for the sake of the battleground or whatever. Open PvP would mean ANY player is subject to being attacked, period.

What's the deal with rogues and warriors? My rogue is 26 and my warrior is 22 but I feel better/stronger/etc on my rogue. I'm currently specc'd Bard for PvE/dungeons and NB for PvP (which I looooooooove).

Agreed about the 2 faction system. I think Warhammer and Rift both would have been much better games with at least 3 factions, or some kind of neutral faction.

Hell, Rift is a huge step backwards from WHO when it comes to PvP.

Warriors are extremely effective in warfronts paired with a healer due to their high durability, good AoE abilities and overall extremely high damage output. Rogues have less survivability (since Hit negates Dodge/Parry with laughable ease) and less sustained damage.

In a given large scale battle,

Warriors - tanks and heavy damage dealers
Mages - dominate the match, given protection
Clerics - healing backbone of your forces
    Rogues - ??????

Marksman is comparable to a Warrior on a single target more or less (with a Dispel spammable!) but far squishier. Any Rogue melee soul suffers from the damage simply being lower than Warrior for no real good reason with the exception of Nightblade which has damage reduction abilities and such. Basically, Rogue is good for Bard, Riftstalker objective running and Marksman is pretty okay.

What is the best spec for PvP for a warrior? I've tried a few (BM feeling super strong in PvE anyway).

It's funny because a lot of games (to my knowledge) have borrowed from Warhammer....the whole level sync in BGs. Bringing lower characters up to appropriate level in terms of health etc. RIFT's are similar to public quests as well. I still think RIFT is more like WAR and EQ2 than WoW. Hi2u Scott Hartsman.

Wouldn't three factions effectively multiply the problems people have with a two faction system? DaoC is the only game I can think of that had three factions, and I never played it so I don't know how it functions in practical terms. I just don't see how anything other than having no factions has a positive effect on an MMO, but I'd love to hear why factions are a good thing from people that like them/want more of them.

Bear in mind the game is still quite young and people tend to just copy cookie cutters rather than explore other specs, but the popular one at the moment is Riftblade though you'll have to ask a proper Warrior for it beyond that. I know it involves Riftblade51 and some Champion... probably Rift51/Champ15/PvP0 but I could be wrong. At your level... hmm. I think just pure Champ should rape some face. Most specs work well as long as you can play them, so don't feel intimidated to try them. People thought Riftblade was awful until they were forced to use it and got good at it, so if you think you see an angle for innovation - take it.

No more Riftblades! I hate them so much. Teleporting on top of me constantly and destroying me while they're immune to all CC, while they have a bugged CC ability that i can't get out of.

If i pull up the chart before the match and see 5-6 warriors on the other team, it's pretty much game over.

Oh and believe me Crizto, if leveling an alt wasn't so dull in Rift, i'd have a warrior at 50 already. They're just a better overall dps class.

With more factions the weaker ones can at least form temporary alliances to take on zergs.

I'm more of a fan of doing away with factions all together. I don't really see any reasons as to why it's a 'must have' in any game.

"Red is Dead" PVP, makes things straight forward.

On Briar, for a rough patch of solo queuing I'm only winning 9/10. Numbers wise it stays fairly even, some guilds came from molinar, some just left for more competition. With pvped focused players picking the underdog from beta impressions, defiants are simply outclassed though.
