Do New FFXI Players Exist and Could Anything Renew Interest?

For me, I wanna go back and get all the gear sets (just cause). I want full koenig and crimson etc. I always loved that stuff back in the day and never had the group or dedication to get it.

okay. so problem solved. I have no idea what I did but it's working now! lol. Think it was some sort of bandwidth thing or something. Closed a bunch of programs that run in the background and now it's peachy~

Are people starting a new new character or just resubbing their old char? The thought of starting from scratch just sounds painful, despite any lingering desires to redo mission chains.

I re-rolled. On quetz right now, but probably would server transfer if enough people wanted to start back up on the same server

I'm gunna start from scratch again. was tempted to try and get my old guy back but don't wanna deal with it. Gunna dual-box it up though for missions/quests/whatever.

and my problem came back. same shit that was happening before. I think it's some sort of registry issue... no freakin idea. bought it offa gamestop's e-store for my 2nd account, so we'll see what happens

So question. What are people doing post level 10? A friend of mine that just started over said he was in the dunes today and literally...he was the only person there. I've been out of the loop for a while so maybe I'm missing something but where do you go at level 10 these days?

Continue to do FOV pages until 30 where you can key leech or get a friend to astral burn you. At 18 can also do Qufim Island, grab anyone lfg.

People partied in the dunes on Sylph, happened every day, although I haven't noticed any parties post-update.
Past two days I'd search and only find 20+ seeking. :\

Field of Valor and soloing EP/DC mobs till 30 is pretty much what everyone does.

Yea, I figured as much but it certainly makes leveling WHM a little tedious if you don't have anything to sub. I used to level whm with /mnk and I'd use h2h with combo. Made leveling 1-10/11 so much easier and I'd expect with the valor pages and the exp changes it would be even easier.

Good time to start over. Novennial ring for free. Also remember that signet/conquest points can get empress band (and it can be refilled). I've been flying through levels. It's slow kills on my mage classes: scholar and summoner so far. However, the fast exp seriously makes it less tedious.

For some reason dunes got shitty pages for partying. If you want to actually make a level 10 party I'd start in tahrongi and move to bubu when you can.

All the dunes pages are decent for solo when you get higher, but for parties they pretty much all stick you with mobs pairings where one is too low or too high.

Buburimu is pretty badass for duo, yeah. A friend of mine and I are doing pages there to get his WHM and BLM up.

I returned (and started fresh) in March, and I'm in an LS of folks that are new or returning on Valefor. We've gotten a LOT of people over the past couple of months. Time will tell how many stick with it, though. A lot of them find the game perplexing.

I make my own parties. I have leveled WHM BLM WAR and MNK from 10-20+ from dunes/qufim parties. Most of them had PLs too. See below.

This. I got from 8 to 25 in a matter of 3 hours with the rings. Though..from 10-25 I had 2 PLs and a BRD in the party. :3 Still I was getting 800+ exp per mob and the novennial was on from 10-15 and didn't wear til half way to 16. That was just one charge.

Note to resubs: If you play on Quetz I have a few connections that can become PLs for us as well as possible abyssea burns (iffy since this would be from my LS) and probably could get mission help etc if asked to certain people.

I'm going to be on Quetz. I have some friends that play on there as well that might be able to help with the abyssea parties as well. Shouldn't take long to get caught up (on levels anyway).

Question: If I buy the game today off Steam today, can I still buy it Monday with the abyssea content and still get the headpiece? Will Steam email me the codes so that I can register them or is it like a package deal? I'd love to get started today and then add the helm into the mix on Monday along with having all the abyssea content.
