I can see these not sucking eventually, as a basework. Especially if they bring back fame from XIs system. On their own they're kinda worthless though, especially with the commonality of most of the rewards (then again, what isn't common).

I agree. Eventually this could work out to be entertaining stuff, but with people desperate for interesting and engaging content to do when bored of leves, this simply wasn't the calibre of quest I expected. The rewards are pretty much meaningless, and there are so few quests that you could burn through them in a couple of hours and then it's back to grinding. Disappointed in this patch really (though seeing pictures of GIANT MOBS will be amusing for another 10 minutes or so...)

Total of 6 quests in Gridania I've found, 5 are initially accessible, one require you complete another to do (Penultimate Prank is pre-req for Ultimate Prank).

I kinda feel like we should at the very least get xp for the mobs we kill. Not to mention we should get xp/sp for the quests on top of any other reward, especially since they aren't repeatable.

It took me forever to find the nutbiter marmots, but jesus christ when I did find them there were like 50 of them everywhere.

Those quests are complete fail from every angle. You dont get exp for killing the mobs, you get shitty piece of gear, and they not fun to do. Aside of few fixes to the mechanics we got nothing in this patch.

Wait, you're doing a lore quest for SP and good gear? There's far better ways of doing that. Were you expecting 50k SP and a Dodore Doublet as rewards?

Sounds about right. Sounds like they just trolled everyone who hoped the quests would be good.

No I was expecting atleast lvl range and class appropriate gear like in every other MMO that makes sense. Also, since there is no fame or any faction favor by completing the quests it makes them furthermore useless. AND would be nice to atleast get appropriate exp for the mobs you kill while farming the quest items not get completely fucked.

I'm in Grid ATM, I'll get info on the quests there and have it up soon.

How they managed to implement something so basic to modern MMOs so poorly is beyond me.

Are you wondering why the content is lackluster when they're revamping the game from the ground-up at the same time?

It was a poor decision to try to put in both content and rehauls at the same time but this thread is still made for info as far as I'm aware, not for crying. The complaint thread is for bitching.

EDIT: Fortunately all we need now is another one of Yoshida's plane adventure letters and everyone will love him again.

What were you all expecting? Easy quests with rewards of the best gear in the game? Come on, now. This is what needs to happen for the game. It introduces backstory and personality into the game (which everyone can agree, was sorely lacking), and gives a presence to the NPCs. Also, Yoshi already stated in one of his letters that he would much rather introduce them in small amounts as they are available, rather than waiting for a significant amount and dumping them all at once, in the interest of giving us something to do now while the game is still deemed as "incomplete."

I just cannot believe the sense of entitlement among the players when patches come out. For every patch, all I read is negative comments about how FAIL everything is. Why can't we just enjoy the small improvements for what they are, and praise the producer for actually moving things in the proper direction?

For me, this is moving steadily in the direction that we all want to go. I'll continue to stand behind the progress.
