You have to understand the mindset of this community. XI players did dynamis, limbus, etc for 10+ hours a week with 0 EXP rewards. They're all used to getting nothing for something. Good luck convincing all the stubborns that it should be any other way (I've been trying for years).

You don't have to convince them, these fanatics arent going to quit the game either way, and will get over it eventually.

^ True enough, and even if the fanatics quit, the potential gain in non-fanatics is enough to outweigh the loss of a few "hardcores", which aren't even doing a good enough job to make the game profitable as-is.

I've heard respawn rate is pretty shitty... and almost always people at camps...

This is all from what I hear, haven't attempted myself.

Just did all the quests the last few days. Never once seen anyone camping at any of the quest mobs, and never had a problem with respawns, never had to wait for anything to spawn. I did not just sit there and camp though, I think they would be great mobs to skill up on, if the respawns are decent, there is 10-15 mobs per camp, at least.

Did they add SP to these mobs at some point? Or am I misinterpreting what you're saying. Too lazy to check.

Yeah after doing them myself I only had an issue once where I went to an area in Grid that had no monkies... had to wait about 7 mins or so for them to start to respawn.

I enjoyed doing them.. my anima however did not.

They don't respawn at all fast enough to grind off of though but at least they give sp now. We tried the Ahriman in Nanawa Mines and it wasn't remotely fast enough to sustain a group of 4 though they were giving 360ish sp per.

I've been having to farm Bomb Ash off of the Bomb Embers in Nanawa Mines since I don't feel like paying 25K+ per pinch. Generally, I'm the only one there but I did notice respawn is a little weird at least compared to XI. I don't know how it compares to other mobs in XIV. When you kill a mob, it doesn't start a respawn timer on -that- mob. Instead, once the first mob is killed, a respawn timer starts. After X amount of time, 1 mob will pop and if the maximum number of mobs is not met, the respawn timer restarts until the maximum allotted number of mobs has been reached.

For example, if this were XI and I killed all of the Bomb Embers in 3 minutes, then each of those bomb embers is put on an X minute respawn time, and should theoretically all repop within 3 minutes of each other.

With these quest mobs, once I kill the first, the entire group of mobs is put on a respawn timer, the first popping after that amount of time. So even if I kill all of the Bomb Embers in 3 minutes, maybe only 2 - 3 will repop within that 3 minute window. I believe that is one of the measures they put in place in order to discourage the camping of quest mobs.

Sorry if I wasn't clear in explaining it since this method is much more different than what I'm used to.

Yes, this is the same for NMs. A guy I was playing with last night could predict when the next spawn was on Downy Dunstan every time. I think he said it was 5 minutes for the new NMs, and it was independent of ToD. Sometimes he would say the re-pop will be in 2min 30 seconds, and sometimes it would be 30 seconds after we kill it. He mentioned if you kill it right before the respawn time you could get an instant repop.
