Security-wise, do we have a problem here?

In the past, hackers could take our FFXI passwords because people saved them in their insecure POL files. To remedy this, SE added the SE accounts and Security Tokens. Many people immediately deactivated their security tokens, but the system still worked because SE didn't allow us to store our SE passwords.

Now we can permanently log in to these forums with our SE ID/passwords. Is that smart? It's in another place, but doesn't that give anyone interested in hacking accounts the other half of the key?

I wasn't permanently logged on. I tried to go on the forums a few hours later or w/e and it asked me to log in again.
