School holds first ever mixed race prom.

For any teenager, prom is a monumental night, but for students at a Georgia high school, it has been more than 40 years in the making.

For the first time ever, students at Wilcox County High School, in Rochelle, Ga. danced together at a prom that wasn't segregated.

For decades, the school board has avoided officially endorsing prom festivities, instead relying on parents to host and control invitations leading to year after year of two dances - one for white students, and one for the black students.

Students have lobbied over the years to end the practice. This year, a group of Wilcox County seniors decided to take matters into their own hands.

The four girls, two black and two white, created a Facebook page asking for support and donations to fund an independent bash open to all.

"We were doing that so we could get the word out, so that some people would be able to donate and help us out with what we were doing," said senior Mareshia Rucker.

On Saturday night, nearly half of the school's student body came out to the event.

"Hopefully when everything is said and done, people in our county will really realize, that there is no sense in the way things are right now," Rucker told ABC News affiliate WGXA.

Despite this year's groundbreaking integrated dance, once again this year there was a segregated prom attended only by white students.

It wasn't an officially sanctioned event, but a private one organized by white parents.

Five people have been taken to hospital after an inflatable slide was blown over at a car boot sale in North Yorkshire.

The incident happened at Ripley Cricket Club, near Harrogate, at 10:10 BST.

Four of those injured were taken to Harrogate hospital while another was taken to Leeds General Infirmary suffering from chest pains.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said no one was thought to have been critically injured.

"Officers have seized the slide and investigations are continuing at the scene," he said.

"The Health and Safety Executive has been informed and are also attending the scene of the incident."

Carmen Williams, who was at the scene, said: "I was sat there in the cafe and in a flash the bouncy castle with two or three children on it just flew over.

"People were screaming and running away from it. It was awful."

Miss Williams said one of the injured people was an elderly woman who was hit on the head by the inflatable.

Another person who was at the cricket ground tweeted: "Very scary to see it getting blown away."

The land is part of the Ripley Castle estate.

A castle spokesman said: "Our sympathy to all those affected by the bouncy castle incident at the Ripley Cricket Club car boot sale on the cricket ground this morning: hope those injured make a swift recovery."

A dozen or so Japanese tourists a year have to be repatriated from the French capital, after falling prey to what's become known as "Paris syndrome".

That is what some polite Japanese tourists suffer when they discover that Parisians can be rude or the city does not meet their expectations.

The experience can apparently be too stressful for some and they suffer a psychiatric breakdown.

Around a million Japanese travel to France every year.

Shocking reality

Many of the visitors come with a deeply romantic vision of Paris - the cobbled streets, as seen in the film Amelie, the beauty of French women or the high culture and art at the Louvre.

The reality can come as a shock.

An encounter with a rude taxi driver, or a Parisian waiter who shouts at customers who cannot speak fluent French, might be laughed off by those from other Western cultures.

But for the Japanese - used to a more polite and helpful society in which voices are rarely raised in anger - the experience of their dream city turning into a nightmare can simply be too much.

This year alone, the Japanese embassy in Paris has had to repatriate four people with a doctor or nurse on board the plane to help them get over the shock.
They were suffering from "Paris syndrome".

It was a Japanese psychiatrist working in France, Professor Hiroaki Ota, who first identified the syndrome some 20 years ago.

On average, up to 12 Japanese tourists a year fall victim to it, mainly women in their 30s with high expectations of what may be their first trip abroad.

The Japanese embassy has a 24-hour hotline for those suffering from severe culture shock, and can help find hospital treatment for anyone in need.

However, the only permanent cure is to go back to Japan - never to return to Paris.

An online registry, Íslendingabók ('The Book of Icelanders') holds information about the families of about 720,000 individuals who were born in Iceland at some point in time. And a precious feature, using the bump technology, allows people that meet to just bump their phones together, to instantly see if they are too related to take things any further. The engineers' slogan for this feature was: "Bump the app before you bump in bed".

Danny Brown Receives Oral Sex From Fan On Stage, Keeps Rapping

Fans attending rapper Danny Brown's concert Friday night in Minneapolis got a bit more than they probably bargained for when a female fan appeared to give the musician oral sex while he was on stage.

Brown was playing the city's Triple Rock Social Club as part of The Old & Reckless tour when he invited some female fans to get closer to him, according to AllHipHop. However, one fan took that offer far further as others looked on. This NSFW photo that various publications have been linking to should clarify what happened.

One concertgoer near the front row explained what transpired with female fans grabbing at Brown's crotch before one lady flashed the musician before performing fellatio on him.

"Then I'm behind her and I start getting pushed against her by the crowd shifting," the fan wrote. "It horrible and i hope you guys will be donating to my future therapy sessions but also i came back with a story. He rapped the entire time during too."

The Toronto Sun reports rapper Kendrick Lamar tweeted Brown rather incredulously about the event.

There's no word if police are investigating the incident, but Brown has made no follow-up reference to the incident via his Twitter account. It didn't stop one fan from speaking her mind regarding what happened.

"@XDannyXBrownX you are a disgusting pig ! Just wanted to let you know in case you didn't..!" a Montreal lady with the twitter handle SicaTheSickest tweeted.

There may have been some foreshadowing of this participatory theater. Prior to the Minneapolis show one female fan tweeted her own specific Brown-related aspirations.

Florida Teen Girl Charged With Felony After Science Experiment Goes Bad

Kiera Wilmot got good grades and had a perfect behavior record. She wasn't the kind of kid you'd expect to find hauled away in handcuffs and expelled from school, but that's exactly what happened after an attempt at a science project went horribly wrong.

On 7 a.m. on Monday, the 16 year-old mixed some common household chemicals in a small 8 oz water bottle on the grounds of Bartow High School in Bartow, Florida. The reaction caused a small explosion that caused the top to pop up and produced some smoke. No one was hurt and no damage was caused.

According to WTSP, Wilmot told police that she was merely conducting a science experiment. Though her teachers knew nothing of the specific project, her principal seems to agree.

"She made a bad choice. Honestly, I don't think she meant to ever hurt anyone," principal Ron Pritchard told the station. "She wanted to see what would happen [when the chemicals mixed] and was shocked by what it did. Her mother is shocked, too."

After the explosion Wilmot was taken into custody by a school resources officer and charged with possession/discharge of a weapon on school grounds and discharging a destructive device. She will be tried as an adult.

She was then taken to a juvenile assessment center. She was also expelled from school and will be forced to complete her diploma through an expulsion program.

Polk County School released the following statement:

"Anytime a student makes a bad choice it is disappointing to us. Unfortunately, the incident that occurred at Bartow High School yesterday was a serious breach of conduct. In order to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment, we simply must uphold our code of conduct rules. We urge our parents to join us in conveying the message that there are consequences to actions. We will not compromise the safety and security of our students and staff."

So, sorry kids. Don't try any extracurricular science projects on school grounds, especially if they could result in anything resembling an explosion.

Zero tolerance policies in schools. They're a bunch of bullshit. Thankfully when I got fucked over I was very young, charged as a minor, and my record was expunged when I became an adult and asked the court to do so. She's fucked though, and it sucks a whole lot. Common sense in the justice system is apparently a thing of the past.
