Hahaha wow. That's karma. I remember back when I was in the orphanage, we had two kids who were Wiccan. One of the aides there was 100% convinced they were witches and were in to devilry, etc. It took several of the other kids and the two of them plus their teacher who was also a practitioner to explain there were facets of the religion that practiced witchcraft and whatnot but they were more along the lines of practitioners of the belief system and it had nothing to do with devil worshiping. There's the wannabes who believe it's about spellcasting and worshiping evil deities and whatnot, then there's the traditional ones who practice a belief system that's completely normal to actually helping every day society and has nothing to do with evil or bad shit.

Florida strikes again, shouldn't have been texting in a warzone though.

By M. Alex Johnson, Staff Writer, NBC News
A retired cop, irked that the couple in front of him were texting at a Mark Wahlberg war movie, opened fire in a Florida theater Monday, killing the man and wounding his wife, authorities said.
Curtis Reeves Jr., 71, was charged with second-degree homicide in the death of Chad Oulson, 43, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said late Monday afternoon. The theater was evacuated and remained closed after the shooting, which occurred about 1:20 p.m. ET.
Oulson was shot in the chest after a verbal and physical confrontation with Reeves, and his wife, Nichole Oulson, was shot in the hand. Chad Oulson was pronounced dead at a hospital, and his wife was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
"To have a retired police officer — I don't know what he was thinking at the time," Nocco told reporters. "I can tell you, anybody, over a cellphone, to take their life, it's ridiculous."
An off-duty sheriff's deputy from neighboring Sumter County was in the Grove 16 Theatre in Wesley Chapel, north of Tampa, and detained Reeves and secured the weapon, described as a .380-calber handgun, until Pasco authorities arrived, Nocco said.
"He was a true hero in there. He reacted," said Nocco, who also praised the efforts of two nurses who were in the theater and tried to save Oulson's life.
    http://m.static.newsvine.com/servist....jpg&width=380NBC News

Nocco said that when when the first emergency calls came in, his mind immediately turned to recent shootings at schools and movie theaters, an apparent reference to the mass killings at a theater in Aurora, Colo., in July 2012, and at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., just five months later.
"Hearing what we heard, we were prepared for a large incident, but I want to reiterate this was just an isolated incident," he said.
"This situation over a cellphone use — to escalate that high, I can tell you it's very scary," he said. "Or the fact it's a movie theater or, you know, a place such as a school, where people have a belief that they should be in a movie theater to relax or a school to learn and have it arise to this kind of level."
Nocco said the tragedy unfolded after Reeves became outraged over something trivial: "somebody texting."
Reeves and his wife were sitting behind the Oulsons as the preview trailers were rolling just before the showing of "Lone Survivor," the Mark Wahlberg movie about a failed 2007 Navy Seal raid in Afghanistan, investigators said.
Reeves asked Chad Oulson several times to stop, to no avail, Nocco said. He then left the theater to complain to the theater's management before returning to his seat, the sheriff said.
Upon his return, "Chad Oulson then starts confronting him verbally, starts saying: 'Oh, did you go in there and start complaining on me? Did you tell the staff about me?'" Nocco said.
"This verbal altercation starts getting louder and louder. During this altercation, it goes from a verbal to a physical altercation," he said.
Then, "the suspect, Curtis Reeves, pulled out a gun," Nocco said.
Only one shot was fired, Nocco said. Nichole Oulson was wounded in the hand when she grabbed her husband as Reeves pulled the trigger, he said.

The theater's operator, Cobb Theatres, said in a statement that it was "truly heartbroken by this incident" and that it was cooperating with investigators.
Reeves retired as a captain from the Tampa Police Department in 1993, said Laura McElroy, a spokeswoman for the department, adding that Reeves helped set up the department's first SWAT team.
"We are not aware of any contact with the department since his departure more than 20 years ago," she said in a statement.

So what are Florida gun laws like? Restrictive and everybody will say that is why this happened? Or easy to legally carry and it still didn't stop anything?

According to the group, the suspect, a heavyset white man estimated to be in his late 40s or early 50s, approaches women while driving a silver or black sedan with his genitals exposed. He then displays a piece of sliced Swiss cheese and offers to pay the women to put the cheese on his penis and perform sexual acts on him using it.
"I started to compare girls to cheese due to their milky complections [sic], girls are soft, smooth feeling and tend to like dairy products more," he wrote.

"That and typical advertising, always using a girl to advertise dairy products. So cheese is what I started to use as a replacement for having sex with girls."

He would have been able to carry anyway. Most retired Law Enforcement fall under HR218 where an off duty or retired police officer can carry anywhere in the U.S. as long as they maintain regular proficiency.

While SYG law could use revision I don't think SAFE Act gun control getting pushed through with Jewish money is the answer either.

    Texas being Texas, i.e., terrible.

LA VILLA, Texas (AP) — Schools are closed in a one-stoplight South Texas town after the city shut off their water amid a dispute over the bill.

The city of La Villa shut off water and sewer service to the La Villa Independent School District in December, shortly after students started their holiday break. The city had increased a water surcharge and the school district has refused to pay the higher rate.

The district's approximately 625 students were supposed to return to classes Monday, but instead found this message on the school district's website: "All La Villa I.S.D. schools will be closed until further notice."

Students raising pigs at the district farm just behind the baseball field had to find new homes for their projects. The boys and girls basketball teams have had their home games converted to away games until the dispute is resolved. They beg court time for practices from other area districts. Seniors fret — perhaps prematurely — over whether they might be forced to finish out their final year in another district.

"It's a really sad situation knowing they can't come to terms," said Angie Reyna, who on Monday coaxed her daughter Amanda, a senior in La Villa, into coming to work at a relative's drive-thru convenience store in Elsa on Monday.

Maxine Elizondo had three grandsons to look after Monday instead of just the youngest. Their parents both work, so Elizondo was thankful she's retired and can help out.

"Some parents may not be as fortunate," Elizondo said, while the oldest boy, a 5th grader, rode his bike in lazy circles in the street. She said the quibbling adults are acting like children.

"I think it's sad because to me I don't think they're thinking about the children," Elizondo said.

    [...]
Besides deciding it's worthwhile to pursue teaching their kids garbage in school, they also think it's better to charge the schools as much as possible for basic utilities, because of course they do. Can't let any of those freeloading students game the system.

I know you all care about the Beebs:

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies are serving a felony search warrant at the Calabasas residence of singer Justin Bieber in connection to an investigation into an egging incident at his neighbor's home.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said eight people are being detained inside Bieber's home, including the singer.

"They are being cooperative," Whitmore said. "We will seek to question Mr. Bieber in connection with a felony investigation."

Whitmore said no arrests had been made. It is common practice to temporarily detain people while a search warrant is being served.

The egging incident marks the latest clash between the pop star and his neighbors, who have accused him of throwing loud parties and speeding through the neighborhood.

The neighbor called authorities last week, saying someone was pelting his home with eggs, said sheriff's Sgt. Dan Nagelmann of the Malibu/Lost Hills station.

The neighbor was home with his daughter at the time, Nagelmann said, adding that deputies who went to the scene found no one outside.

Whitmore said the egging incident was determined to be a felony because it caused several thousand dollars worth of damage.

Bieber has been at the center of a number of controversies that have caused friction with his neighbors in the wealthy, gated community where he lives.

In a grainy video posted on TMZ that purportedly documents the incident, a man standing in the doorway of a home exchanges expletives with a voice outside before telling someone in the house to call authorities.

“I got another one for you, actually,” the person outside yells back in the video, before apparently hitting the house with more eggs.

Sheriff’s deputies said video footage and photos had been submitted as evidence.

Nagelmann said the neighbor told deputies he had seen Bieber throwing the eggs. The offense in the initial police report is listed as misdemeanor vandalism, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said it was unknown what prompted the egging.

Hal Faulkner, a gay man whose last wish came true earlier this month when his discharge from the U.S. Marines was changed from "undesirable" to "honorable," has died.
NPR's Quil Lawrence, who , says that the 79-year-old Faulkner .
It was about he had cancer in his lungs, liver and adrenal glands. It was thought he might have six months or less to live.
    Quil picks up the story:
"Faulkner joined the Marines in 1953 and served in the Philippines. But in 1956, someone told his command he was gay. That was enough to get him an 'undesirable' discharge.
"Since the Pentagon has repealed the 'don't ask, don't tell' ban on gay troops, it's now possible to get a discharge for homosexuality corrected. But the process can take months. ... His lawyer, Anne Brooksher-Yen, pushed the military to expedite the case, but it didn't look good.
"[But] because it was Faulkner's dying wish, the Marine Corps somehow settled his case in just two weeks. A group of friends and family — and three active-duty troops — gathered to present him with his upgraded 'honorable' discharge just after New Year's Day.
"Officially, Faulkner said, he was a Marine again.
" 'I didn't think ... I would last through all the battles that we've had,' " he said, 'but a Marine is always a Marine.' "
At the end of the small ceremony earlier this month where he was given his honorable discharge, Faulkner thanked the two young Marines and the Air Force lieutenant colonel who had delivered the news. :
" 'I don't have much longer to live,' Faulkner said. 'I will always be a Marine. Thank you. Semper fi.'
"The young Marines answered him back with the Marines battle cry: 'Oorah.' "

Man when I was playing little league we had this kid run laps around the diamond with the team's flag when their team won, so one of our pitchers took a baseball and nailed the kid square in the head. All he had to do was apologize and skip a couple games. Parents didn't sue then!

I also know this is a grown ass adult in the situation.

Flag football first grade, I stop one of the jocks from scoring a touchdown, hold his flag out for him to take back, and the fucker punches me square in the nose. How he wasn't kicked from the team or outright banned, to this day I don't know.

In retrospect, I wonder if this is at all related to the mix of migraines and nosebleeds I suffer now, but yeah... we didn't exactly go sue happy, either. Maybe I should look up the long term effects of six year olds getting punched in the face. D:
